South Gate Dog & Cat Hospital

I have taken my pets here before and even though 1 of the staff members is very rude the Dr. himself is very nice and careing with my pets and he knows what he is doing very professional.
but I will never go there again after taking 1 of my puppies to the vet for his booster shots I was sitting waiting and there was 3 other dogs 2 walking around very cute not disruptive or anything and 1 other poodle who apparently looked very ill and when they were finally called in and the lil girl that was holding him stood up and walked towards the back room the dog was dripping blood the poor baby had parvo and dripped blood across the entire floor and I stood up and told the lady at the front desk that the dog dripped blood and we had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to come out with a dirty dry mop and basically just smeared it across the room and casually left. I was furious as to why they would not clean this up properly, everyone knows that you have to use bleach to kill this deadly virus and they did nothing when it was my turn I walked along the wall to make sure I did not step in the blood and I was mortified to find blood on the weight that they expected me to place my puppy on. This was horrible and I heard the whole conversation when the Dr. told the owners of the dog having parvo and yet not doing anything to clean this mess up. I was so sad to see a dog in such horrible state and now I can never go there not knowing what kind of dogs have been there with what illness and them not being sanitary.I go to the vet thinking they are more aware and are more cautious about virus since so many take different aged pups there to get cured not sick. This happened on 8/29/09

I don't mind driving 2 hours from San Diego just to take my dog to this Veterinary Hospital everytime there's medical necessity. Doctor's and Staff are friendly and knows what there doing. Cost are affordable and reasonable than other Vet hospital especially in San Diego and Los Angeles area. I thank my friend who recommended this hospital and I am happy that my dog is back to her good health.

We were a nervous wreck going into this situation but they paid attention to every detail and most importantly gave my husband and I peace of mind. We had immediate updates and progess reports, video of the care she was receiving and were at ease once we left our pup in the hospital.

My dog gets such great service and attention here. Every single Dr. and staff member we have encountered is knowledgeable, helpful and caring. Though it is not always a fun experience for my dog, she likes going as much as a human likes to go to a Dr. they love. Love this place and am so grateful for their help and care.

AMAZING! The whole staff is extremely helpful and understanding. I have taken all of my pets here and I have had all my friends and family bring their pets here as well. I moved out of South Gate and still continue to make the drive because of they great care my pets and I receive, they have literally saved my pet's life. The pricing beats any other place, South Gate Dog and Cat Hospital is knowledgeable and inexpensive. I would highly recommend this veterinary hospital to everyone! I would like to write to praise . My dog Lucky had very bad bleeding cysts on the underside of his paw., He was in great pain and licked the area constantly causing it to become worse and worse. Dr. performed laser surgery on Lucky. It was a hard 2 and one half month recovery. We followed his advice to the letter and Lucky is now completely healed and walking well again. I feel very fortunate to have had Dr. Truly as Lucky's vet surgeon. He 100% knows what he is doing and is kind and caring as well.

Best doctor wen I need him for eny question about my dogs the doctor is so nice to answer and relax me thank u I know about that hospital for 6 yes love it thank u

Service was terrible very rude people money hungry. Dog had a pork chop stuck in his throat took dog in as an emergency 450 bucks couldn't oay in full so the dr says i cant get my dog till i pay in full I'm willing to make payments dr says no beed the money now never go here again . then when i finally got a payday loan so i can take my dog home didnt even give me any paper work or instructions for careing for my dog....

the best place ever i took my snooki in on a sunday for an emergency visit and the service and fee were great
