Granite Factory installed our volga blue granite on Jan 12, 2013. I was initially pleased with the price and the experience. However, I cannot report a satisfactory long term experience. During the purchasing process, I asked if Granite Factory was a reseller or if they sold the granite directly. The answer I was given and the facts did not line up. The granite was actually furnished by a company called Factory Plaza, Inc in Illinois. Maybe they are owned by the same owners maybe not, I was just surprised by this. More importantly, however, was the crack that developed in front of my built in cooktop less than a year after installation. I visited the store with pictures of the issue and expected Granite Factory to visit my home to review the situation. Instead, I was accused of dropping something on the granite. Nothing was dropped on the granite. It cracked and Granite Factory has refused to even come and look at the issue. I am definitely not a satisfied customer.

Had granite counters installed today from the Granite Factory. Absolutely beautiful! The installers were very professional and did an excellent job. Erich is a pleasure to work with. RJP.
I ordered countertops and tile from Lakeside, and dealt with one of their designers regarding tile for a kitchen backsplash. She was aware I had no experience with tiling. She recommended some tile and I ordered tile based on her recommendation. The tile was installed and looked horrible. She never explained that handmade tiles vary in size and would be more difficult to install. She never had me take a sample home to see it in my own lighting and room. I have subsequently bought tile from a tile shop. The sales person explained about various tiles, encouraged me to take tile home and was very knowledgeable in assisting me. The Lakeside designer was not helpful. I did send a complaint to Lakeside Stoneworks, but they have never responded. The countertops are fine, but I would strongly encourage using other stores for any tiling needs.
They are very disinterested in any customers timeline. Very cold one-sided atmosphere. They are more interested in adding all kinds of little charges to bring the price up. Too many Hoops to jump through to even get a measure done. I cannot imagine treating my customers the way they treat theirs. All in all not a very good experience I will not be using them again.
