Our Bass Properties apartment had a constant stream of cockroaches (many the size of my thumb or larger), paper-thin walls, and loud, unruly neighbors who were often loud and unruly until three and four in the morning. Any concerns voiced to Bass Properties management were belittled and ignored. (And management changed on a fairly regular basis.) Then, after faithfully paying our rent in full and on time every month, when we were finally able to escape this awful place, the company returned almost none of our security deposit. Predatory, malignant, and in no way trustworthy. Steer clear. (And the only reason I rated this place one star is because I had to rate it in order to leave a review. If I could have, I would have given it negative five stars.)
Thompson Realtors is terrible. On more than one occasion, they would claim that they never received my rent payment. I would even mail it in 2 weeks early every month. They would not allow the option of dropping it off at the actual apartment building office where I lived. I either had to mail it in, take time off of work to drive to their offices downtown, or get charged a fee to pay over the phone with a credit card. I finally figured out they do have an after hours drop box, but I was never told that until my last month living at Norbrook Arms Apartments. Whenever they claimed they did not get my payment, they would send a very rude letter saying that I would be evicted immediately with no exceptions if they did not get payment plus an almost $200 late fee. I had lived at Norbrook Arms for 2 years before they took over managing, and I was never late on payment or had any issues at all in regards to my rent, yet they still charged me that ridiculous late fee. Beware before you go through them!
I just wanted to say thank you for the great job that you all do! I was so pleased when I arrived home from work. Our steps and sidewalks had been cleared and salt had been put down. I knew it was you all because it was done around the whole complex and it was done neatly. I became a cheerleader for Schempp Realty (Go Schempp!Go Schempp!Go Schempp!) I had to do the tippy toe dance as I was walking. Keep up the good work!!
Horrific experience. Had a question on a security deposit check and was not informed for three weeks of a decision. Apparently even if you don't sign the lease the organization will take that check. Extremely rude to work with and had multiple leasing agents change hands over a one month period. Know similar people with this experience. Avoid these properties at all costs.
Our Bass properties unit at Park Side/Parkside (2519 Wallace Ave. Louisville, KY 40205) had gigantic cockroaches. Also medium and small cockroaches, but the ones bigger than my thumb were obviously the most troubling. Panicked concerns voiced to management were belittled and ignored. The unit also had paper thin walls that allowed us to hear everything (and I do mean everything) that happened next door and upstairs. And after ALWAYS paying our rent in full and on time, Bass refunded almost none of our security deposit. Living in our Bass Properties apartment was a terrible, terrible experience.
Follow your gut if you have to deal with Joe! Very unprofessional and slow to respond to anything. Had to turn down a great property because of his red flags!
WORST LANDLORDS EVER!!! My son and I moved into an apartment in Old Louisville owned by Denton Floyd 3 months ago and we have regretted our decision each and everyday since the day we I moved in. Talk about a lack of "truth in advertising" -- Denton Floyd made sure to sell me on the fact that they are the best rental agency, with 24 hr maintenance, secure buildings, and a commitment providing a premier level of service to their tenants. If a message was left we never heard back confirming they received it and that our request would be addressed. We were without a bathroom sink for the first 7 weeks we lived here -- it took them that long to respond to our repeated requests. We are on the first floor of this building the the smell and cockroaches that seep up from the disgusting mess in the cellar is becoming unbearable. They offer onsite coin operated laundry --but no one want so use because it is filthy down there and you trip over the cockroaches getting the machines. I feel like a fool because I believed them when they sold me on this unit - I trusted that they conducted business with honesty and integrity -- I am so damn stupid!!!! I count the days to when I can move out of here.
