Party of two went on new years and while they were busy not every table was full. Service was horrible and took forever. My steak was very undercooked, I had ordered it well done, and by the time our waitress even came to check on us my husband was almost through eating. Her response, well I came over here. Yea, before we even got our food. And the most disgusting thing, is when they brought us our steaks we didn't even have knives so they brought us two, that were DIRTY. You could clearly see they had been used. We have been here before and it was so good we had to come back, but never again will I wastemy money, there are better steak houses, plenty in Louisville, so enjoy those first before you come here!!!!!!!!
First let me start off by saying I have been to the finest steakhouse's in Louisville and to put this place in the same category as Stony River, Jeff Ruby's and Ruth's Chris is ludicrous. I actually read some bad reviews on here for this place and thought it can't be that bad. Just thought the bad reviews were from uppity people who you could never please. I should have listen to them and went to Jeff Ruby's.I had reservations for two ,well in advance and showed up exactly on time only for them to set us to the side and scramble for a table somewhere. Might I add that the greeting staff and owner were all arguing with each other about where to sit people blatantly out in the open and very loud in front of customers. Very unprofessional. So finally they find us a table in the back (back!) room of the place only to be met with a snobby waiter that started arguing with the hostest and owner about not wanting the table sat that they were bringing us to. So they argue and sit us and my wife and I were already getting upset. We were given drinks and cold bread by the waiter's little lackey. The waiter then proceeded to walk by us at least 7 or 8 times tending to other customers in the room and totally ignoring us. We didn't even get to see a menu. So after the 8th time he walked by us without even a look our way my wife and I decided to leave and talked to the manager on the way out. She was apologetic but didn't offer us another waiter, table or anything and just let us leave.While we didn't even get to eat there, I really can't comment on their food. I don't care if they have the best steak in town, I will NEVER go there again and tell all my friends and family as well.Terrible Terrible service to say the least.

For someone to put Del Frisco's in the category of ""Fine Dining"" is absolutely ridiculous. I had a reservation for two people, made days in advance, and waited for 25 minutes! They had older people walk in the whole time I waited and sat them with no wait. Maybe it was because my date and I were younger adults.Once seated, our waitress was very short with answering questions; by no means thorough. The coordination of where the food runners took the food was extremely poor. They wondered around the dining room asking each table if the food was theirs. Niether my date or I were warned that the plates were hot when our food finally came out so I burned my hands situating my plate. My entree was a [12-14 oz.] Filet Mignon cooked Well that was not accompanied by a steak knife. I asked for one and the waitress seemed offended and asking if my butter knife hadn't worked. I was appaulled that I was questioned about a request at an ""upscale"" restaurant.I have dined at places like Rivue, Jeff Ruby's, Ruth's Chris, Vincenzo's, Volare, etc. I really had higher expectations for Del Frisco's and in my opinion, I should've headed straight to Ruth's Chris after 10 minutes of waiting. Except for the fact that it was a Saturday night and I had already cancelled my other reservation at Rivue just because Del Frisco's had an earlier available reservation.I tend to take my girlfriend out to nicer Louisville restaurants for an ""eclectic"" dining experience. My philosophy is that when you go to an upscale restaurant, you're not only paying for great food, but also for the service and experience. I was thoroughly disappointed in the way our night turned out. I hope they step it up for the reputation of the Del Frisco's name's sake.
I have been dining at Del Frisco's for at least 25 years now. As a young man my parents took us, and now I take my children as well as my clients. The food is always top notch and the service the best. With my travels I have dined at many a steak house, including other Del Frisco's in other states. Del Frisco's in Louisville KY. is without a doubt THE BEST!

This restaurant will always stand out to me. When I was younger I found myself at St. Joe's, of no fault of my own. But one Christmas I remember all of us including staff being invited to Del Frisco's for lunch. They were closed to the public, and the owner Audrey and her family graciously opened their doors and hearts to us. I remember feeling very special just to be invited. The food was awsome. I since have matured and come back to this special place when I can. Audrey and her family are still there, the food is still great but the memory is greater. Thank You Del Frisco's

My husband took me for a belated Anniversary dinner to Del Frisco's . We were in jeans and not dressed up at all. The staff made us feel very welcome and comfortable. The dinner was top notch all the way ! We didn't have to ask for anything. The steaks were PERFECT.

Having reason to celebrate, I decided to treat my family to a fine dining experience at Del Frisco's. I had been there years ago and heard it was still the top place to take a group of hungry carnivores. My 3 (teen and twenties) guests were thrilled and ate with gusto speaking between bites only to discuss a return visit. Unfortunately, I was less than thrilled. Our water and soda glasses were unfilled 90% of the evening (1 person of 4 received a refill). The salad while tasty was limp. The steak orders were handed out in silence incorrectly and we played musical plates. I had French silk pie which could be better described as ice cream in a pie shell since it was largely still frozen and definitely wasn't silky. Even the steak was just average. I don't own a grill and have managed to equal the quality in my oven. My family was happy so from that perspective, it was indeed a celebration. The last thing I wanted to do was take the smiles from their faces by complaining. When all was said and done, they gleefully departed with the leftovers (I didn't want those either) feeling stuffed while I had a huge empty feeling and a wallet substantially lighter.
We made reservations for a party of eleven at the location in Louisville, KY on Feb 13th. When we made the reservation, we were not informed of the check policy (no seperate checks for parties of 8 or more). Unfortunately, it wasn't until the ordering process that we were informed of the policy, at least that is what the waiter claims he shared with all of us. We were not in position to leave at that point. At the end of the meal, we did request for the check to be seperated since most of our party did not carry cash that night. The waiter become very argumentative and rude to our party. He incorrectly ran two of the cards, charging more then the amounts charged to other members of our party and overcharged us an entree. In addition, he generously gave himself a 20% tip instead of the standard 18% that was stated on the menu. We certainly do not think he deserved 18%, much less the 20% he charged. Apparently the staff can elect when they want to follow the policies on the menu, but can chastise the customers for not being able to follow policy. I called the following Monday and spoke to the day shift manager who was extremely unhelpful. After agreeing to resolve the matter by Monday afternoon or Tuesday, it was Thursday afternoon before I CALLED HER for some type of resolve. She made multiple excuses why she couldn't call back, including her kids lost my phone number, she didn't have &quot;the book&quot; with her on Monday, and on Thursday couldn't find our bill anymore. She also explained that it is up to the waiter's discretion on what they want to tip themselves on parties of eight or more. I suppose I would choose the highest tip I could get, if it were at my discretion, especially when it is guaranteed and I did not have to work for it. When I asked to speak to her boss, she let me know right away that the boss was her mother. As if her poor customer service skills should be excused because her mother is the owner. In the end, we are awaiting the cost of the overcharged entree and the 2% difference. Wow, I am super impressed, we are being credited back what we should have never been charged. Way to go Del Frisco's!! The day shift manager did offer us gift certificates, however our experience has led us to never want to return to this restaurant again. The eleven of us want everyone to know of the poor customer service at this restuarant and to carefully check their bill for overcharges. Shame, shame. If after this review, you still want to go, the steak was the only entree that lived up to it's price tag. The potatoes au gratin were bland, the green phunqee casserole is a fancy term for cheesy, spinach casserole and the salads were average.
Have been going to Valentines Dinner with the same group of people for 6 years. Went to Del Friscos our first year and loved it so we decided to go back. Food was decent, although my filet had a lot of pepper. When we got our desert (derby pie a la mode) the ice cream had freezer burn. The atmosphere was loud and we were by the bathroom. Our waiter ran us up for a $2400 bottle of wine and it took forever after we ordered desert to get the check fixed. He brought the check and told us to have a nice evening and we hadn't had our desert still. Then he either walked out or got fired, no one was there to pick up the slack. The manager offered us an after dinner drink when she finally came over. We asked her to take a picture and she said &quot;No&quot;. I think she had been at the bar drinking. Then it still took another 20 minutes for someone to come and get our payment. Service was awful for the amout of money we were spending there on a very special night. It was a disaster. I will probably not go back................especially for Valentines Day.
There is no doubt that Del Frisco's has the best steak in town. They literally melt in your mouth. Unfortuneatly other options at the restaurant are not as good. My dinner salad was old iceburg lettuce that was in clumps and brown on the edges. The Blue Cheese dressing was watery and with out personality. The wine list is extremely overpriced and the selection is bland. The escagot was moist and cooked perfectly. It is a shame that such a fine dining restuarant could not come up with a better salad and dressing option. They could also sell more wines if they lowered their prices and offered a better selection. If you go ask for a waiter by the name of Steve. He is one of the best servers that I have had in Louisville.

My boyfriend and I went to Del Frisco's for Valentine's Day a few years back. The food was good and so was our waitress..... the coatcheck girl stared at my boyfriend the whole time making him very uncomfortable. then as we were getting ready to leave, I was standing up to put my coat on and he was still sitting. A lady that was sitting at the bar the whole time were eating, she was either a manager or owner or something like that, came over and stood right in front of me with her back to me and rubbed on my boyfriends back asking him how our dinner was......very inappropriate. I felt invisible. We will not be going back.

On our resent visit to Del Frisco's, my wife and I were there to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. Simply put, we had the best meals we have ever had!!
I called to make reservations and spoke to a very well mannered man. I explained to the gentleman that I wanted to take my wife somewhere nice for our anniversary. He got our information and I mentioned that for her birthday we were VERY disappointed by Ruth?s Chris. The man informed me that he had our reservations, apologized for the Ruth?s Chris nightmare and then told me that he was Giles Lehto, the chef. He assured me that he would take good care of us and that he personally guaranteed that we would be pleased and definitely not return our steaks as we had to do 3 times on her B-day. I thought to myself that this guy is pretty bold to say such a thing having never met me, and considering I served 9 years in the military and literally have eaten all over the world.
All I can say is WOW, It was SO MUCH MORE than we could have ever expected! Vince, our server, was TOP NOTCH!! Just as all the great reviews had promised! We were seated immediately, our drink order taken, and then Chef Lehto came to our table to tell us happy anniversary. How classy is that!? We were blown away by the service and how wonderful the place looks. That was the ?tip of the iceberg? as they say. Vince described a few of Chef Lehto?s signature dishes, because they are not on the menu yet. I was sold on the ?Oscar style Filet? I can?t remember what all was on it, you will have to take my word for it! AWESOME!!! Asparagus, sauteed mushrooms, baked potatoes, the salad with homemade dressing? My wife said, even the coffee tasted better than any coffee she has ever drank! LOL We couldn?t have asked for anything more! Vince & Chef Lehto, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I recently moved away from Louisville...back to Atlanta, where I lived before moving to Louisville.
To be quite honest, there isn't a single thing that I miss about Louisville!
OOPS...Yes, there is a SINGLE thing that I miss...Del Frisco's!
I have lived in Atlanta for many years in the past, and recently again for four months, and as many good restaurants and steakhouses there are, NOT one of them does a steak that can compare to Del Frisco's in Louisville!
I am a New York strip fan, and at any other restaurant, i would never order any other cut. My wife is a big filet fan, but I won't eat a filet simply because they have no flavor...UNTIL DEL FRISCO'S.
Having eaten at Del Frisco's at least twice a month for years, I FINALLY took a taste of my wif'es filet one evening...WOW!!!
Corn fed...dry aged to perfection...cooked perfectly medium rare...easily cut with a butter knife...This filet tasted even better than any New York strip I had ever eaten!
Since that first taste of a Del Frisco's filet, I never ordered anything other than a filet (at Del Frisco's). even though they have the best New York in the world as well...
I have tried several Atlanta steakhouses, including Bones, and none of them compare...I travel all over the world for work, and haven't found a better steak ANYWHERE.
I love the weather in Atlanta...much nicer than Louisville...But I MISS MY DEL FRISCO'S.
Don't miss the chance to try this place.
Also...by the way...an earlier review said something about ""poor service""...I can assume that the reviewer must have gotten their restaurants confused. The service at Del Frisco's is IMPECCABLE...My wife and I ALWAYS commented on it...even after our visits to Del Frisco's had become routine...
Del Frisco's is the best steakhouse I have ever found...anywhere.

I can't say much about this restaurant that other reviews haven't already said. Corn fed beef served with creamed butter that cuts with a butterknife says it all. I understand they have a contract that no other restaurant within 100 miles is allowed to buy the same beef. My favorite things are the mushrooms, spinach phunque, fried shrimp, and homemade Caesar and Blue Cheese dressings. Although the dining room is formal it's also unpretentious. The servers are real professionals, most have been there for over a decade. I worked there as my first job, and everything is still exactly the same. My only complaint is the prime rib is not as good as the other cuts.

This is a family owned restaurant. Not a chain. The food is to die for. They have spoiled me. I can't order steak from anywhere else because no one else's steaks can compare. If steak is not your thing order the lobster or crab legs they are out of control....no mess involved they are served ready to eat...no cracking shells and scrapping out the fish. The service is amazing. The servers and busers are very attentative and the owner is always there. Her name is Audrey and she is super friendly. If you haven't eaten here yet you are missin out!!!
Ps. I don't know what that that other reviewer is talking about....they definetly sell gift certificates....I have bought them before........ps great gift idea the person i gave it to was so excited!
