my friend recommended this place when i was whinging about not having found my coffee hangout yet. as soon as i walked in i knew this was it. i was pleasantly surprised of its ambiance, and especially like how they played classical music so one can hold a decent conversation with their friends without having to yell over the latest pop music of some sort. i also was pleasantly surprised of the coffee art on my latte! finally a barista who knows what he is doing! i have already been there two consecutive weeks. i am little troubled by previous comments as i certainly haven't come across any rude service. given the review date is so long ago i am assuming that there have been some good changes since then.
Cafe Madrid is one of our favorites. We typically get a Paella for two (need to order 24hrs in advance) or an appetizer Paella (seems better if you order it ahead though) and at least 4 tapas. Shrimp with bacon, croquettes, sausage with fig are the favs. Never actually had an entree in the half dozen visits. If you can get JC Pino as a attendant, he is pretty freaking awesome. He usually makes the rounds and enhances the experience. Ambiance is fantastic.Music is great. Birthday shooter from the servers are classic and unexpected for the birthday victim...although I don't think Utah will let them do alcohol anymore.
Great Mediterranean food in a nice quiet setting. We had 9 in our party and they handled our group with no issues. I had the figs wrapped in bacon as asparagus to start, the bacony figs were incredible. My wife and I always strategically order to share. I ordered the beef tenderloin and she ordered the chicken Marsala. They were both incredible though my medium was a slightly over cooked. The sauce on the Marsala made the top ten list of things to enter my mouth. In fact I started dipping everything in it, tenderloin, potatoes, rice, a roll, my napkin..Great meal.
This might have been one of my favorite meals I've ever eaten. I cannot express how happy I was with the entire experience. The waiter was so knowledgeable, and he gave perfect suggestions. We had the mushrooms, the queso, the Brussel sprouts and the asparagus salad. He paired everything perfectly. I was expecting to miss the meat in the meal, but it honestly didn't need it. Four tapas and a bottle of wine was the perfect amount of food for the both of us. I didn't quite finish the last dish. I Cannot stop raving about my experience! Please go here ASAP!
Loads of fun! Nice management. I have been there with a group of about ten friends a couple times. Many of us sang a solo, and some of us sang two or three times. Since it is alcohol free and kids can come, that naturally keeps it fairly clean. A five inch thick or so book of song titles with artists includes a huge range of everything. Still, some songs available in the book are quite inappropriate. It might still be possible to reserve a private room though for about $100 for a few hours if you are concerned.
A cozy laid-back coffee nook just down the street from the entrance to great skiing and outdoor activity. The coffee is great! offering every choice and flavaor imaginable, as well as alternative hot and cold drinks. It's a fun, casual place to sit and socialize, either inside or out on the patio. The food and snacks, however, are limited - mainly paistry and buns. They would do well to expand in this area. Over-all it's worth it for coffee, relaxation and socializing.
You have to go! We went in for a birthday party and it was great! The food was super yummy (took a little long, so be prepared to wait, IT'S WORTH IT!!!) the people are friendly and it's very fun! I love that it is a non-alchol karaoke place. It's teenage/kid friendly so my little sister and her friends can go! It's fantastic. Don't go if you want to listen to drunk people sing.... the singers are sober! Something I loved!
I took my wife here for her Birthday. We both had an amazing experience! From walking in and seeing the beautiful decor until we left satisfied, we had a great time. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and was quick to offer help. He talked to my wife for 10-15 minutes about the available wines. The food was beyond expectations, as were the cocktails. We often reminisce of our evening at Cafe Madrid!
I stopped by today to say "Hello", Beautiful Place--- See you this Saturday When I Sing at 7PM After the "Harvest Day Parade If I can get away!, otherwise the following Saturday (Aug 13), Ms America and I are "Friends" but, just friends, I gave her my Ms America Poem which I will recite when I get there along with a few other poems and sing one or two Original songs---See you then!
I have been to Cafe Madrid about 5 times and have consistently enjoyed the experience. The wait staff was helpful and knowledgeable as well as attentive. They made some great Tapas suggestions and they never disappointed. The soups are something special btw! The lobster bisque, wow! The outdoor and indoor dining is wonderful and intimate. I happily recommend this unique experience.
