I wouldn't even give this plac...

I wouldn't even give this place 1/2 a star. We waited 30 minutes for food, chips and salsa were good but crab cake Benedict was very disappointing, overcooked eggs

And the meat was total mush. We would have left there with just the thought that the food was poor but then the server

Was a complete jerk. After my wife asked for more hot sauce he called her a picky eater and said he would put the hot sauce on her food. After having to go to the counter and ask for my check because it had been 20 more minutes without any service Warren

Brought the check and asked if she liked her food, she replied no and then Warren told her that he knew this would be the case because she is so picky. Then I stated to Warren that he had a lot of nerve talking to my wife like that, in which he replied you God Damn Right I do Mother F****er. I did not engage back with him as the restaurant had numerous children in it. Overall we were

Very patient and feel that this behavior should not go unpunished. And by punished I mean DO NOT Patronize this restaurant!

Great Blues,Good food.

My wife and I have gone up to the Sun & Moon a half a dozen times or so to see some FANTASTIC shows. Chris Duarte,Scott Holt & Jason Ritchie to name a few. The shows have been outstanding and very cheap for the quality of bands($20-$25) bucks. The vibe is awesome, people dancing and mingling and they have some really good beers including Epic Brewery spirits. I really enjoy their blackened chicken sandwich and the gumbo is great too. Also the Wagyu Beef wontons and the Empanadas were kick-ass!! I hear some of the previous reviewers comment amount the prices and its obvious to me that they are from Utah where I have noticed that if its not under $10 it is ""expensive"". Try getting a prime cut of meat for under $30 somewhere else you cheap a**. If you want to hear some great blues acts and have a few bucks to spend on good food and beer, grab some friends and go up and have a great time!!

Avoid

The majority of the reviews seem all to familiar! I wouldn't even give this place half a star! Both times I have gone was in an effort to support local musicians.
My first experience, I couldn't even call the food edible and was extremely overpriced for that matter. Also, by the time you received your drink order, you were ready for you check.

Last weekend was my second visit to the Sun and Moon Cafe and it will be my last. We walked into an all but empty inside seating area, waited by the please wait to be seated sign, had 3 servers walk by us, not saying even a word, so went to where the live music was playing, no help out there either. Decided that if the servers aren't intelligent enough to take orders and seat customers that I should help them out.

Now we have some attention, a very snotty immature waitress asked us to move from the table because other people where waiting. hmmm...than get your act together and DO YOUR JOB! The employee stated that they were down a waitress and a hostess and were backed up. After being told a manager wasn't available upon request, we decided to leave. Even tried to call back to speak to a manager and got the same answer.

Is the manager under the impression this is a decent restaurant? Hire employees that give two cents about their job!

The next time someone makes the suggestion to go to the Sun and Moon Cafe, I will decline. My advice, go to Burger King, even if your burger has been sitting on the grill for 15 hours, the food will still be more enjoyable and you don't have to tip waitresses that belong as WalMart greeters.

Awful service

This is the second time I have been to the Sun & Moon Cafe. My first visit was about a month ago and we were told by our waitress that they were understaffed so I gave some leeway. We waited 45 minutes for our food and couldn't get a second drink. The food was overpriced and barely edible. We decided to give it another chance because a good band was playing there but we were sorely disappointed again. We waited ten minutes in front of the 'please wait to be seated' sign with many servers not saying a word to us. We finally decided to seat ourselves outside and after a few minutes of sitting a waitress came and told us in a very rude tone that we weren't allowed to sit there. We told her we had been waiting awhile and she said they were understaffed. Sounds like somebody doesn't want to pay staff to work. So we asked for a manager and we were told the manager was too busy. So we decided to leave and never go back. This place is an absolute joke.

not worth the drive, not very friendly

went up here for breakfast. the waitresses hung out behind the bar chit chatting for the most part. it looked like if you're a 'regular' you get o.k. service. the food was just o.k. and the portions were skimpy. we had to ask for toast and were served 1 slice. not worth the trip for the price and the quality of both food and service.

Bad Food

The service was alright but the food tastes like it was all microwaved. The best thing is the bottled beer is $2.50. Not worth the drive.

Impressive Qaulity for the $$

I travel for food everywhere and just have to say that the quality of food this place pumps out is awesome! I brought up my entire family and everyone enjoyed their meal and had a great time! There is something for everyone. I had the filet mignon and it was perfectly done, not overcooked like so many places I've been. For the quality, the prices are phenomenal. If you are visiting SLC, take the 10 min. drive up Emigration Canyon, it is well worth it! Good service too and live music on the weekends. I also attended a wine tasting and the staff was knowledgeable and the wines unique, not the same run of the mill stuff you find all over town. Got to check this place out!

Great atmosphere and great food, as well as nice staff!

For a good eat in a beautiful little canyon, check out the Sun & Moon. This place has an intimate atmosphere great for a romantic night or get together with family and friends. None of the cheesy hype like all the new downtown restaurants with absolutely no soul. This place is definitely overall tons better then their neighboring restaurant down the canyon- Ruth's Diner where customer service is a joke! This cafe supports local music as well as national blues acts. And let me just say, if you are into the blues you MUST check out a blues show there. It is the best intimate venue for incredible music. I've seen a couple of them and every band has been amazing! Great beer and wine list too! Everything I have tasted has been delightful. I especially like the grilled lamb--to die for! Very reasonably priced for the good quality of food. Got to check it out!

Avoid this place!

My band recently played the Sun&Moon. We have a large following and brought lots of good people. They had reservations for 60 and many others came. The place was packed and the restaurant made TONS of $. Well, at the end of the evening the owner completely screwed the band when it came time to pay us. Not only did this create hurt feelings, but from a business perspective it is really stupid. Word of mouth is everything, and to save a few dollars he alienated us (and those that we talk to). I've since heard from another person who performed there that he also got ripped off. Helps explain why their business is always so dead (I'm sure the mediocre food has something to do with it too). If you want to support local live music and running an ethical business, avoid the Sun & Moon.
