C J's Corned Beef Cafe

While the fact that this dive is 24-hours on the weekends; turning out the lights for glow-in-the-dark madness after 10 PM makes this place a perfect stoned-or-drunk late-night hangout after hours, during the daytime, it's nothing to get your hopes up about.



The restaurant ALWAYS seems to be out of something, or more accurately, some *things.* Here is an example of a real-life conversation at CJ's while ordering:

"I'll have a root beer float."

"We're out of vanilla ice cream; we only have chocolate."

"Fine, I'll have a chocolate root beer float."

"Actually, we're out of root bear too."

"Okay, then I'll have a chocolate Coke float."

"Alright, but... we're out of Coke. We only have Diet Coke."



The tables are ALWAYS, ALWAYS disgusting. The air itself is sticky. The state of the silverware causes instant nausea. Once, I saw two flies land on top of my food and begin to mate.



On another plus side, the fish tank is pretty damn cool. But there's only one seat right next to it.

Great food. Like a diner type of food. Great breakfast food and good sandwiches. The weekend hours is 24 hours. So when you are out late and need to get some grub, this place is the place. Nice wait staff.
