Great ice cream sandwiches. The perfect thing to bring along to dinner parties if you're in charge of dessert. I've had a decent Cubano sandwich here, too, but it's really all about the ice cream treats.
I judge a Mexican restaurant by its carnitas. El Arco Iris passes with flying colors. The haven't changed the place much since opening, and I hope they never do.
I love the guacamole and chip here. The margaritas are creepers. After your 6-7 one, you start to feel a little buzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Yum! Brought some treats from here to a party and they were so good. A bit expensive but a nice treat. Meter parking.
The Mexican restaurants in Los Feliz and Silverlake don't quite do it for me, so I venture a little farther afield to this place for their carnitas (ordered crispy). It's very family-friendly (there's nothing hipster-cool about the decor), and while it's always bustling, I've never had to wait for a table. (they can also accommodate larger groups.)
Came here for breakfast and was blown away by the amazing pancakes! They got some good coffee. I am now a breakfast person thanks to this place!
My favorite thing about Stories is the patio in the back! A wonderful place to work, read, and enjoy a coffee on a sunny afternoon. I recommend this place for anyone who enjoys coffee and books :)
It is almost 5a and the waitress is nothing shy of horrendous. I am thw onky person in the place and she acts like I am interrupting her. In addition there is no parking! My glass was re mpty when she brought me my salad and made no attempt to acknowledge it being empty.
This place has been here for over 30 years, serving some of the best Mexican food around. For breakfast, try their chilaquiles with salsa Verde, or the sopes rancheros. Their mole is rich and authentic. It is family owned and operated, so they take pride in their food and service.
