The podiatric profession has given a great deal to me, and my family. For this I am very grateful and I am driven to give back to my profession and my community. I have been a member of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons since its inception. I have served on the ASPS Nominating Committee and have worked with ASPS and the APMA on Redrew helping residency programs provide educational materials to their residents at no cost. Having worked with National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners since I was a resident as a test and item reviewer, education is very important to me and if elected to the ASPS Board of Directors I would strive to bring low cost / no cost educational programs to our members, residents and students. I also understand that in order to provide these programs and services our organization needs to have a strong support network. In the past I have worked closely with the Almanac and the Goldfarb foundation to support programs and our profession. I have proven my leadership abilities by my work on our Connecticut state society and understand the teamwork and humbleness needed to accomplish organizational goals. The future of our profession is bright but we need strong leaders to continue our conversation with insurance carriers, CMS and hospital boards to remind them of the benefits that having podiatrists on board brings to the prevention of limb loss. We need to educate them of our ability to provide first rate medical care and surgical care. I have worked closely with hospital administrators and have served on the Board of the University of Bridgeport, Norwalk Hospital Foundation and The Norwalk Senior Center. It would be an honor to continue to serve our profession as a member of the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons Board of Directors.
