This is a wonderful addition to the sandhills area restaurants. I moved here from new york city and it is hard to find a good sushi place that is creative and unique. My favorite is the Flaming roll and the Carolina roll. Their entrees here are massive! You get what you pay for. For example, their Spicy red curry shrimp is $12.95, the shrimps are massive, the plates are huge, and they recommend eating family style--which is sharing. So in this economy, my family of 5 usually order 1 appetizers(Ultimate Combo) and 3 entrees to share and it is enough for everyone. And you can escape with a bill around $50 for a party of 5 easily. The staff is very friendly and seems to always remember your name when you come in. They also have great drink specials. My favorite is their signature appletinis. A very unique twist to a common drink and is only $5 and is around 8oz. which is huge for a martini. My second favorite is the Blue Hawaiian. Very tasty with a hint of coconut and pineapple juice. They have good ambience. Is decorated in natural tones and surrounded by wood structures and carvings. Very unique looking for an Asian restaurant. It is easy on the eyes and is a good place for casual or dressy dining. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but for the friendly down to earth staff as well.
This place has a very good sushi bar. My favorite roll is the dragon roll with avocado and eel drape on top. Very tasty! Their hot river roll with the spicy tuna and crabmeat is exceptional! I have never found a sushi place in columbia that is so unique and creative. Some of their rolls are massive yet it is inexpensive! They have very good lunch sushi specials. You get a two roll combination and a soup or salad for only $6.95 and up. I love sushi and it usually bankrupts me being such a sushi lover! And it takes alot of sushi to fill me up! So you can understand I'm always looking for a good deal. They also have a good selection of sake. They have the traditional hot sake that everyone loves. However, I like their collection of cold sakes. The unfiltered, Nigori, is my favorite. It is sweet and milky in color. They also offer favored sake. I had the pomegranate which I've never even heard of til now. Their entrees are huge. I recommend eating half and taking the other half home if you eat alone.
I first tried Miyabis in Greenville and thought it was good. When we moved to Columbia and searched for a sushi restaurant and tried several in Columbia, we found most of them too expensive for their "chain" sushi taste and expected the same at Miyabis and it is now our favorite and several friends go their regularly because of our recommendation. The sushi is very well prepared and sized appropriately. The avocado salad with tuna is super with a nice Nigori cold sake! But our hostess, Eni, is incredible! We knows what we get each time, she asks great questions, makes a personal touch and suggests items, prepared just how we like it! We go at least weekly if not twice or more and love it each time. It is very clean and the sushi guys greet you as you enter and thank you as you leave. All in all, being a chain japanese sushi house is a plus here. They just know how to do it right!!! I can't comment on the steak habachi. Neither of us enjoy that type of dining, but I am sure it is great.
This resturant is awesome in every aspect. The cook utilizing a Hybatchi grill in the center of the tables surrounded by their patrons. People tend to enjoy this as they may monitor how their food is being prepared. The chef's put on a lively show to keep the children and adults entertained while the food is being prepared. Lude humor may be used on occasion depending on the patrons at the table. Either way, these guys are hilarious. You may choose from the menu which items you would like cooked and how you would like them prepared. The Shrimp and chicken has always been my choice. There has never been a bad word concerning any food coming off of these grills to my knowledge. Def a crowd pleaser. Words of advice, Drink the Sour Apple Saki only and watch out for flying shrimp.
Let's get to the point!! The best dishes at this place by far are: Phad Thai Shrimp, Ma-La Seafood in basil sauce, Singapore rice noodles, Spicy Cha,cha, cha, Honey walnut shrimp, Tangerine beef, and Beef sautee in spinach. I love these dishes and usually alternate between them. As far as sushi goes: Can't go wrong with the Red Bowl roll (good for the beginner sushi eaters). However, for those more adventurous, the dragon roll, hot river, flaming roll, Phoenix roll, and dynamite rolls are delicious! The tuna tataki is good, but not enough to fill you up! They also have tasty and strong $5 martinis. You have to try their death by chocolate! Their entrees are big so be prepare for a to-go box. Or come hungry.
We love the food at Hibachi Express. Its convenient, inexpensive, and yummy - however, not once have they gotten our order right when we order for pick up. Three times we've ordered this way, and all three times, the order was wrong. Even when we called back to let them know, the following 2 times we ordered, still wrong. It's too bad, because they have really good food, but the lack of attention to detail is frustrating for a customer.
I've been here twice and i love the sushi! Very unique rolls, not too expensive for the area. I'd recommend this place to everyone coming to Providence. love this restaurant. Beautifully renovated, friendly and efficient wit staff and most importantly delicious food. And I am a sushi lover, fro sushi lover I would recommend this site http://yamatosteakhouse.com check it out, you won't regret it.
Exceptional customer service delivered at every visit. Food is always hot. All staff are very professional and friendly. I always order take out, but today I was so impressed by their customer service, I left a tip. Great customer service is hard to come by nowadays, but this place definitely has it! By the way, the food is reasonably priced and delicious. I would highly recommend.
I've been to Sakitumi twice in the past few months and both times the food was mediocre at best, which is sad since it used to be exceptional. I'm disappointed in the food there lately and feel it's time to try someplace else for sushi. The quality of seafood is still good but the sushi rolls are just lacking in flavor these days.
Absolutely amazing!!!! The manger was so kind, showed me my food before letting me leave and even gave me some menus to take to work because they DELIVER! Hibachi chicken was insanely amazing and such a clean, friendly atmosphere. Kacy gives it a 10/10 and a perfect place to get some good food.
