We were in town for business and went to have a good Italian dinner - we were not disappointed! The food was fantastic and we had a wide variety of dishes. Our waitress was this cute girl with personality and a great knowledge of the menu - Molly made sure we had excellent service! Great time and we will definitely go back next time we are in Detroit!
Had a wonderful anniversary with my wife. Food was delicious, but the top notch service (thanks to Jillian) and river view table made for a memorable evening.
Best Pizza and Pasta in DetroitSince a small child my whole family of 8 has only eaten Vince's pizza along with many pasta items, along with a thing called pizza bread beef burger the best sandwich I've ever eaten. My favorite Italian restaurant of all time. What is Italian cooking, I say meals prepared with a whole lot of love, where can you get a mother and daughter team creating the most perfect dishes with homemade pastas and sauces.I say bring any in our nation Italian chefs who only supervise a kitchen and the try the magnificent foods at Vince's. They started in there house just behind the current building and expanded in the 50 years of this true homemade foods place.I like to get chef Aldo from that chain to throw-down with Maria on who makes the best pasta and sauces,, she's hands on everyday. Forget about any negative reviews these people haven't eaten there for 40 years like me.This family continues to commit to the freshest homemade foods by a mother and daughter team that can not be found in this world today for 50 years, so spend a couple hours and meet them, they don't hide in the kitchen. They welcome to be apart of there family and yes it takes a little time to prepared the homemade food when not a chain restaurant.
Very good food and customer service, they are not stingy with food portions! Over all I always have a great experience!
When I'm asked to name my favorite restaurent my immediate response is "The RomaCafe in Detroit MI". And I admit to being in a rut because I always order Veal Piccata and a Roma Salad with anchovies. That main dish, accompanied by a glass (or two) of fine Chianti and crisp warm bread dipped in virgin olive oil makes my day.
I knew about this place my whole life and always wanted to go, but as a kid my parents said it was too expensive (evidently we were actually really poor and I didn't know it). As an adult going downtown I am usually with others that want to go to Bert's, Thomas Magee's or Vivio's. Today I finally put my foot down and insisted my husband and I go (after a little side trip to Bert's) OMG! I am utterly in LOVE with this place!!! The soup and salad dressing are home made (you don't get a choice of dressing, it is the house dressing). Thee minestrone soup was like no other I have ever had. It had firm cabbage pieces in it and a creamy texture to the broth instead of clear. I could have made a meal of that alone! I had the Homemade Paglia & Fieno with Green & white shoe string noodles with prosciutto & peas. SOOOO hearty and delicious! My husband had the Seafood Pasta with shrimp and clams. I tasted his and I really can't determine which was better. I make a lot of pasta dishes and sauces myself and usually don't like the restaurant version. I have to say, I think this was better than my own. AND THE SERVICE!!!! Like a 5 star restaurant! Sam was THE BEST SERVER EVER!
We were in from Chicago and chose this restaurant and so glad we did. The food was amazing but the service from Samer was even more amazing, fun and very helpful. Would come back just to see him and have the calamari! Thanks Samer for a great evening!
Over priced food and awful service. Very snarky server and hostess. Would not recommend or go back.
The pasta is best I ordered the Mr.woods seafood overload, and it was definitely the best I had !!!,I'll be getting my pasta from them..:-) :-) :-)
The food was good. They a little slow but its worth it. They give you a lot of meat and its well seasoned.. Only thing I didn't like was it wasn't enough sauce on the afro but its was still good
