Never deal with Puma Van Lines! Don't repeat my mistake! They will lie and you will pay for it! I was moving from Maryland to Florida last fall when I made a huge mistake accepting Puma's offer. It's important how they convince you to deal with them. The sales guy (Nathan) from Puma promised to take my stuff in MD, transfer it to Fl, put into their storage in a city located just about fifty miles from destination. Then as soon as I am ready (I was going to rent an apartment) I call them. Then they move my stuff in on the next day (or any other day of my chose) from the storage to the apartment. That was the plan. Looks good for now.During the loading the price from quotes increased from $1400 up to $2000 just because of a few small additional things. Actually, I should have put it into my car instead and safe the money. I paid $600 more initially. Anyway, it my fault but they expect it and like to charge you. I came to Florida. I got apartments keys. I called Puma. They said I should call dispatching company and gave me another phone number. I was calling the dispatching company three days to figure out how to agree the destination date. They were giving me different phone numbers. Nobody could tell me what was going on. On the 4th day they called me themselves and said that my stuff is still in in a storage in Maryland (!!!) and they have one truck per week and the next available truck will be in 10 days! Though they promised next day delivery! Well, I had to live in a hotel for 10 more days. The dispatcher said the driver will call me when the truck is if Florida. Ten days latter driver called me on Friday saying I have to be ready to take the stuff tomorrow (Saturday). But the house has strict rules not to move in on weekends. I asked them to delay till Monday. They said I must take the stuff on Saturday or pay about $700 fee. What a surprise!I rented a storage. They charged me extra $200 to put my stuff from their truck to storage box because they use 18-wheeler truck which is huge and they couldn't park right at the storage box.Then I had to rent local moving company to move the stuff from storage to the apartment and assemble furniture myself. I called Puma to explain the situation. Their manager (Javier) was sorry about that and offered $100 dollars as a compensation. But they lied even that time he didn't send my the money and didn't reply on my emails. Though, I expected it I already knew they are liars.Finally. The initial quote was $1400. What I paid:1) $1400 contract2) $600 (a few small extra things)3) $500 (10 extra days for hotel ~$50 a day)4) $60 (storage box rent)5) $200 (move stuff from truck to storage box)6) $120 (local transfer company)Total: $2880 + as lot time was waist for unnecessary calls to handle all this + self assembly of furniture + VERY disappointing experience! This is how it works. I relied on their words I but I shouldn't.

The complete process was great with US movers inc - from start to finish and all people involved. Between the original assessment, the follow-up calls, and the final move were all beyond my expectations. They gave us a timeline and worked within it. The movers were careful and did not damage a single piece of furniture. They asked where I wanted furniture placed in the new house and reassembled all items. They were very friendly.
