I love Matts!! We 1st ate at Matt's when they opened up on Ferguson road, in a little building. We were gonna eat then go out to the lake, so we had an ice chest with beer and snacks in our car. Matt came out to introduce his self. Told us to bring in our ice chest. They didn't serve beer yet but we could bring our own. As we finished our meal, Matt came and sat down, on the ice chest. We had a great time!! After that we ate at Matt's couple times a month. My daughters always ordered the burritos. They were so huge and yummy! Over the years I've tried everything on the menus, but my all time favorite is Cheese & Onion enchiladas with rice and beans! And used to come with a few chips with queso on the plate, soo good!! What ever brand of cheese they use and how ever they cook it, I've never had anything better! When Matt's moved to Lakewood, I would see women come in with fur coats, and diamonds that would blind you, and sit next to a family with jeans and tee shirts. Everyone had a good time and was treated as an old friend. I am soo glad Matt's is opening up in Allen, it's closer to my home!!!

Went here for Valentine's Day with my boyfriend at lunch. It was a little crowded but we still received very prompt and courteous service. Definitely recommend this location. It was fast and perfect.
I took my son for his first time ever. He loved the chicken mole and my favorite, the beans were the best ever. The hot sauce is VERY good as well.Thank you for being opened until 10:00 pm Fri-Sun. as some of my family members work until 7:00 pm but with hours that late, we are still able to e…
My wife and I went out to Mi Piaci for a date night and have a really nice experience. As I was choosing a wine from the list, the waiter actually recommended a less expensive Pino Noir than what I was going to select because he felt it had better flavor for less price, and he didn't disappoint. The calamari was great, and the lobster bisque was the best I've had in quite some time. Our entrees, which the waiter helped us choose, were delicious, and we split the chocolate cake to finish things off. The ambiance of the restaurant was somewhat "Dallas" but still very comfy with a beautiful dining room, great lighting, and a pretty view of a pond with a fountain. Overall, a nice place for a mid to upscale dinner.
I've dined in the Egyptian maybe 30 or 40 times. Though Italian is their specialty, they also have an excellent variety and quality of conventional foods. I have hardly ever been in this restaurant when there was not a crowd, especially on weekends. Often the owner, Carlton (Corky) Campisi, son of the original owner Joseph Campisi, can be found in there visiting with local business people or local sports figures. In addition it is not at all uncommon to see any of Corky's three daughters (Amber, Gina or Tara) dining or hanging out at the bar. Some of my favorite dishes at the Egyptian are the Italian Steak, Veal with Angel Hair Pasta, their awesome spagetti and meat balls, and of course they have the best Pizza in Dallas.
My first experience was at the one in Little Rock, AR way back in the late 80's. When this opened years ago, I had to check it out..yep..same great quality. I don't get to that part of town often, when I do..I head straight there for my favorite..blue cheese burger~med rare~and it is always just awesome. Had some kids staying with me, took them..they loved their purple shakes and wolfed down their burgers..and kids can be finicky. p.s. the onion rings..crispy and delish..the place is great for kids or the kid in you. Prices for a meal..just a tad more than McDonalds..such a deal...
Went there with a group of friends that recommended the place, I had no idea what to expect but I will very pleasantly surprised. The food was very unique, California style Mexican food with lots of varieties of items and sea food dishes, they had big screens which made it easy to watch even from the patio. I also liked their Mojitoes, they were very potent and freshly made, and you could tell, and were very reasonably priced. I will certainly go back, I recommend you try it too.
Seriously, I am not sure where the populace of the reviewers ate at or what they were dinning on. I have eaten at THIS DALLAS LANDMARK since I was a child, I first met Joe, when I was a teenager. Upon graduating from High School, and starting Under Graduate School, the weekends that I would come home from school I was fortunate on Friday evenings to dine with Joe at his table in the back of the old store. The food was incredible then just as it remains today!
I came here for pupusas and not much else: surprise, it's not the main focus of their menu as this is predominantly a Salvadoran restaurant with quite a variety of items. I tried the pork and the beef pupusas for lunch today: I would be very hard pressed to tell you which one was which as they both tasted alike with way too much cheese and not enough meat or flavor. And they serve the most boring watery salsa I've ever had. Staff are friendly.
This restaurant has never disappointed me. No matter what I've ordered, I've always left fat and happy and so have my dining companions. Unless you hate Italian food, this is the most romantic Italian restaurant and seems to be happily stuck in the good old days of mobsters and gun-molls. Go. Eat. Smile. Keep an eye out for Tony Soprano and try to be seated far enough away to avoid any overspray in the case of a hit.
coolest restaurant in Dallas. Been going there for over 40 years and is always fun. Many famous people have walked thru those doors and continue to do so to this day. When the Byron Nelson was played in Dallas, it was neat to see Arnie, Lee and Jack walk in and go to the club. Love the pizza, crab claws and the hamburger. Yea, they make a great hamburger. R
This quaint little restaurant packs quite a big punch. You can find everything from a Texas Sized Chicken Fried Steak to home made pies. My favorite though; Thursday’s special with fried mushrooms & baked squash, to good to be true. The staff provides great service, but make sure you come in early or you might not have a seat!
