This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at an OB/Gyn. It was extremely cold in the waiting room. Everyone had wrapped there arms around themselves in the waiting room. I told the receptionist but nothing was done about it. Once in the examination room, I was asked to strip down. The assistant left and told me the doctor would come in shortly. I waited naked only wrapped in pink paper towels for over 1 hour! Nobody checked on me. The doctor was all business, meaning he wanted to sell all kinds of procedures to/respectively wanted to make appointments for me, for blood work, mammogram, even a colonoscopy. I declined everything but the blood work. I asked the phlebotomist which lab they were working with and if my health insurance would work with this lab. She said, I had to find that out myself. So I called my insurance. The phlebotomist was not helpful and treated me the whole time as if I was a nuisance. My appointment had been at 8.30AM, it was now 10.30AM and I had to leave. So I cancelled the blood work with the phlebotomist and left. The receptionists were all busy and the waiting room full. So once in the car, I called the central number and asked to be connected with the reception at the Clemson office, (you cannot call the offices directly), to make sure my blood work was cancelled. I was almost 7!!! minutes on stand by, before I was rerouted to the switchboard. The story continues... 6 days later I receive a letter from a doctors office downtown for an appointment of the SAME DAY. I called the office and told them I never made an appointment with them and that my name is also spelled wrong. I was afraid someone was posing as me! After talking to the receptionist and her being so nice and making some inquiries herself, it turned out it was an appointment for a colonoscopy made by the Kramer office. I cannot recommend this place and will certainly never go there again!
I have been seen here through my prenatal process this year. I absolutely love my physician Dr Ravenelle. I wish he had his own practice. The staff here are horrible! Out of all my prenatal visits I never known them to lock up the lobby. I came for my 6 week check up and I was about 15mins early. I had my 6week old son with me and he was fussy and I needed to sit and feed him so he would be calm for my visit because I have no choice but to bring him otherwise I wouldn't. The doors were locked. I knocked on the door and a nurse came to the door stating they were closed for lunch. I simply asked could I come in to sit and feed my baby (as he cries). She asked could I do that in my car because they were eating . I said no I can't sit in my car , he is fussy. She took the time to open the door to tell me all this but wouldn't let me sit in the lobby with my baby crying. I thought to myself : these are the type of people caring for pregnant women. I was so disappointed. I told her to cancel my appointment and I went back home. Very rude and inconsiderate.
Wait times are horrendous! Waited with my wife over an hour from scheduled appointment. Went to the Northeast location. You can never speak with a real person...only a voicemail. They don't always call you back within 24 hours. The people upfront sit behind a closed glass enclosure which makes the experience very impersonal and uninviting in the waiting area. Plus they built their waiting room west facing with mostly windows so it gets extremely hot if your appointment is in the afternoon. There are no shades or blinds. Bad part is...it's a brand new facility in the Northeast Columbia area. We're considering going somewhere since this is our second visit with our first baby coming and it's still the same.
I would not recommend this doctor. His bedside manner is not good and I had two very unpleasant visits with him. I am searching for another OB/Gyn. I am very disappointed because I thought with his years of experience he would,be a good doctor. He caused me tremendous pain, too and was not empathetic about it at all.
I recently moved to the area from out of state and through many online searches and reviews I chose Lexington Women's Care to schedule my new patient appointment. I phoned them on a Monday and had an appointment on Tuesday morning. I was checked in for my appointment and brought to the back office at PRECISELY the appointment time; no waiting! Each person I came in contact with were very both personable yet professional, knowledgeable and took time to listen to me and thoroughly answer all of my questions. I highly recommend them.
