From Business: The large attractive dining room seats about 30 comfortably, and the kitchen cranks out fresh vegetable dishes and spicy seafood entrees daily. Try the Royal Thai…
We went there for dinner on a sunday evening with a bunch of family friends, and every one placed their orders. we have two kids with us and asked for two high chairs .. the waitress comes back and says they only have one and the other one is broken .. wow .. Now i ordered Thai Fried rice with chicken, waitress got back with the dish i started eating and well found that some chicken is not cooked to point where its tasty .. so i asked the waitress if they can fry it a little more, and she smilingly takes the plate and walks in .. a min later, a lady who claims to be the manager walks out with the plate that the waitress just took in and starts yelling, " what do you mean the chicken is not cooked, this is how i eat my chicken, if its not cooked it would be pink, do you see pink ? its white blah blah . i was soo taken back it took me a while to even digest whats happening and reply back to her... obviously not used to being yelled at infront of family and friends. i gently asked her to cook it a little more and she stormed in saying that the chicken would be soo hard and that she is not responsible for it anymore.. once she left it is when i regained my senses and my friends are like "why is she yelling at you" what an insult ? i had to walk to the counter and talk to her about this. ... she apologized for what she did but the insult remains .. ill see to it that the management gets to know about this soon in my own way .. worst place to eat thai
They have excellent lunch specials. The food is always excellent and served piping-hot. The service is very attentive without being intrusive
We love the authentic vibe when we walk in. It is a small space, but it's cozy. My favorite are the curry dishes. We frequent this place often, but prefer to take out during busier times just due to the space.
Good Thai food, reasonably priced and offers BYOB. My favorite is the house signature basil salmon.
Best curry I've had in awhile...
I will never eat her because Dharma Thai does not care about customer service. They were too cheap to take a few dollars off so I wonder what they do to cut costs with their food!I had an old Restaurant.com for $10. I called and mentioned it was old and asked if they would still accept it. The woman I spoke to said she would check with the owner and call back. She called and said yes, they would accept it. I told her I would be in later that day. When I got there, the place was empty except for some employees sitting at a back table. I gave the waitress the Restaurant.com and mentioned I called earlier that day. She took it. We ordered and I said I also wanted to place an order to go. I was going to place the order later during our meal. She came back 20 MINUTES later and said they would not accept the Restaurant.com. I mentioned I called and was told it was okay. She said the current owners bought the place 6 months ago and this was older than 6 months. She BLAMED ME for not telling her over the phone that it was too old! I mentioned it was old when I called and she never questioned how old, but it was still my fault. We walked out and ate somewhere else.It was only $10 off so I could not believe they wouldn't accept it to satisfy a customer. This was never about the money. It was how I was treated.1) I had called in advance to make sure they would accept it.2) It took 20 minutes before they told us the discount would not be accepted.3) The place was empty.4) I said I was ordering more food to go so they would still be making money.5) Since I paid $4 for the Restaurant.com, they probably would only received about $2.6) I don't know if you've ever eating at a Thai restaurant, but you usually receive your food very fast. So they probably started making our order before we walked out.No wonder the place was empty!!!
This place is disgusting. I am not a picky eater at all, but my food was inedible. I ordered the Pad Woon Sen (my favorite Thai dish) and it was a pool of oil with a few noodles and some slimy chicken. I took one bite and that was it. It tasted like it was cooked in burnt or dirty oil. The Crab Rangoon was not good either and it came with a chunky sauce. The only part of our order that was actually good was the chicken rice soup. I called to ask for a refund for just the bowl of oil they call pad woon sen. They told me "no, that is the way we cook our food."
My go to Thai place for Wicker Park. Solid food, good value.
This was a great place, with a fantastic and courteous staff. Which along with the food made for a fantastic meal, the pad thai is excellent!
