Not having been to Giordano's in many years on Rush Street, I thought I'd play the game to get there on my visit in August 2009. Luckily, like you, I read a lot on the web about the restaurant in this day, parking, coupons and anything else I could find about "the experience." I found a site that has 3 useful coupons, one of which I used, when ordering my Giordano's pizza on Rush Street. (You may find the coupons here: http://www.hotcoupons.com/cgi-shl/cook/display?rn=2610144&mkt=US%28IL%28CHI%2814%29CSW%2800%29%29%29&fgs=1Abcdefghl&id=IO478B254072943&pid=HC&pfst=N) Here's how I played the game to get the experience, and this may help you too: I rode around on a Saturday afternoon near the restaurant until I found a park and pay spot right in front of Giordano's. My friend sat in the car and waited while I put our name on the list for dine in. I was advised it would be about 1 hour and 15 mins for two people. I took a menu out to the car, we decided on our meal, and 25 minutes later (as the restaurant staff advised), I went in to order our meal at the pre-order counter. You do not pay at this time, only order, and you have to wait 25 min to make the order. I then went back to the car and waited. I had not paid for parking yet, as there is a 2 hour parking limit. The pre-order was a smart move I learned from someone on another web site and it proved extremely helpful. If you put yourself on a waiting list for dine in and do not pre-order, you are certain to wait, on a busy day, 1 hour for your pizza after being seated. When our name was called (the announcements could be heard outside), my friend then paid 1 hour for our parking. We got seated and ordered beverages. I found it nice that if you were called and did not hear the first time, you'll be called again and you'll get a "last call" as a final measure to get you in. We gave the pre-order slip to the waitress and it actually took around 15 min to get the pizza, although we had pre-ordered it much earlier. So, even though you'd think the pizza should have been immediately ready after all of the wait and pre-order, it was not. But, 15 mins of waiting was not bad given that it would have been an hour without doing the pre-order. The waitress was not miss personality, but hey, we were more there for the food. The pizza, as expected, was delicious and hot! The coupon gave us a few dollars off which made it a decently priced meal for two. Thanks for reading my review.
My daughter's wedding was last spring. During the past several months friends have asked me for information about our flowers since they now have events to plan. We enjoyed working with Richard and Brandt at Richard Remard Event Design from the first meeting to the beautiful end results. My daughter lives out of state and we thought it would be a bit difficult but they were very accommodating for meetings and seemed to always find a way to fit us into their schedule. At our first meeting we were asked what we thought our vision was for the wedding and my daughter had a few ideas. We discussed flowers and designs, Richard caught on immediately and gave us a few great suggestions and arrangement ideas. We told him our budget, the things we did not want to do and he came up with innovative suggestions that were very beautiful and unique. We left after the first meeting thinking "he nailed it" and knew then we had found our florist. Over the next several months we had a couple of meetings and several phone calls. We changed a few things just about 2 months before the wedding and it was not an issue for the guys. Our placecard table was so outstanding a friend of my daughter asked if her florist in another state could use the same idea. My friends still talk about the beautiful flowers and different ideas Richard and Brandt achieved. We loved the entire experience and highly recommend them.

People seem to either hate Pizzeria Uno, or love it, depending on their love of pizza and their background. This review is geared toward tourists, as downtown locals more than likely have been here already and have formed their opinons. Things tourists might dislike: The wait times can be pretty long (45 mins to over an hour when it's busy) and the place is small and cramped. Noise levels can also get pretty loud. Things tourists might like: Even though the wait times can be long, you can at least place your order when you put your name down so at least you may not have to wait much longer after you sit down for your deep dish pizza (which traditionally takes longer to make than a regular or thin crust). Things tourists might like or dislike: The deep dish pizza itself! I've had friends from the west coast come out and absolutely love the pie-like crust and how the toppings are placed under the cheese. At the same time, I've heard complaints about the tomato chunks in the sauce. Friends from the east coast have just plainly said that nothing is better than New York pizza. I have not had the chance to judge, though I hope to do so this summer. So there it is. I hope this helps people that have never been to Pizzeria Uno. If you're from out of town and are in downtown, I recommend a go at this place.
I got married this past September and, after meeting with many florists, my mother and I hit florist-heaven! When we left Richard's studio, we knew - without any doubt - that we'd found the florist who could enhance the ambiance and create the atmosphere we wanted for my wedding. Richard and his team LISTENED to what I wanted - and then LISTENED to what my mother wanted (which weren't exactly the same thing), he asked though-provoking questions and MOST IMPORTANTLY: He HEARD OUR BUDGET. You could see the "wheels turning" in his head as he ran about pulling ideas and checking prices BEFORE presenting them to us. This was HUGE. He did not show me anything I couldn't afford, nor anything I wouldn't love. In fact, when all was said and done, my wedding was EXQUISITE. The room was stunning, my flowers beautiful, lively, aromatic and WE CAME IN UNDER BUDGET!!!!!!!! That rarely happens. But, because Richard and his team LISTENED to what I said and presented options that met our requirements - pushing the envelope if necessary - my guests were blown away but my pocket-book was not. I would recommend Richard to anyone hostsing an event of mid- to large caliber, regardless of the budget. He will listen and present honest, thoughtful design ideas. They are the best!
We were so excited when Richie opened this bistro in Mt. Greenwood - we had been long-time customers of his Blue Island Pizza joint, Giuseppe's, and anticipated a more adult place to dine. Our first two or three meals here were delightful, an elegant departure from the typical casual offerings of the neighborhood. Business must have been good, because an expansion soon followed, but the quality of the cuisine began to slip. Were we becoming jaded? We found more to complain about - the menu seldom changed, and the ingredients seemed less fresh. The service suffered at times, and the overall experience simply not what it had been in those first heady months after opening. Richie recently renovated Giuseppe's, now called Richie's Too (see review) and quite frankly, we'd rather go there now. The homemade Italian dishes and sauces done so well at Richie's Too are almost absent here, and the bistro-style fare seems tired. Now that his little family place has grown into an elegant swan, the big sister seems tatty. After all, it is all about the food. We will continue to visit Richie's, in the hopes that improvements will come, and because there are simply so few choices in the area. But we are getting a little tired of settling.
Richard Remiard exceeded my expectations in every way. Each person we worked with was beyond wonderful and only added to the excitement of the wedding planning experience. I found the team at Richard Remiard to be extremely patient, professional, and exceptionally creative. Richard Remiard's team took the time to listen to my vision and made it a reality. Their outstanding collection of vases and candle holders is spectacular. This combined with the inspired artists at Richard Remiard simplifies the planning process – irrespective of whether you have a detailed concept for your event or no idea where to begin. I was made to feel a top priority at all times and believe that this is the standard of service provided at Richard Remiard. I can’t thank Taylor and Brandt enough for putting together the most exquisite arrangements for my special day. I am still overwhelmed by how seamlessly everything came together, your flawless work and the stunning end result. Thank you for all of your hard work and for helping to make such an important day perfection down to the last rose peddle.
4.25 Stars. This was our second visit picking up and bringing the pizza home. Nancy and I ordered the "Michael's Special" which is cheese, sausage, mushroom, green pepper and onion. An important point worthy of note is that it was as consistently good this time as it was last time. This being the case we felt a review appropriate. We ordered a medium (14 in?) thin crust and there was enough left for another person had one been present to join us. Everything was fresh and the pizza sauce was especially good with a characteristic signature of sweet properly proportioned. Though the title states Pizzeria before Tavern if you didn't know better you would mistake it for a sports bar, with a long bar and over 20 large screen television sets positioned all over the premises. For me to rate 4 stars - particularly with all the pizza places that abound in Chicago is unusual, if the drinks are as good as the pizza I can see myself hanging out here on the less than frequent occasions I have some free time.
Every time I have dined at Sapori I have enjoyed it. The last time I was there I had a reservation for 8:30 and it was completly full and they realized they weren't going to be able to seat us right on time so they took my entire party to the bar and gave us a round on the house. I love that their menu changes and that the owner/chef will come out to see how you are enjoying your food. I gave honest feedback that the meal was not as I expected and had a more hearty flavor than I was looking for and he replaced my entire meal with something else that he thought I would love in under 10min. That's what I call service! I've had everything from the calamari to the lasagna and I really enjoy the rustic flavors that are brought to the entree's. The atmosphere is quaint and conservative, it's a great place for a first date or a casual dinner amongst friends. I really enjoy the sharp crowd and the great people watching. I think they also have seatting in the back of the house for larger parties.
My husband and I were married May 14, 2016. We hired Nasarus for full wedding planning, including weekend events. Both of us couldn't be happier with our choice. Every aspect of our wedding was attended to with great care and detail. Staff: Susan Hailey was our wedding planner and she was a blessing to us, along with her assistants Lynn and Ann. We had weekly meetings, updates and emails as far as progress and additions. Most of all, the attention I received made me feel at ease through the whole planning process. I wanted a Downton Abbey style wedding and Nasarus delivered what seemed a replica of the Downton Mannor. During our contract signing, we were given Seven Steps of Perfection, which outlined everything we needed, including updates on food, florists, wedding dress, bridesmaids dresses, venue, gifts, travel and expenses. Each time I email Susan or Lynn, I received immediate attention. I would recommend Nasarus 100 times over, they made everything perfect for our wedding!
