I stopped in to Bad Dog Tavern for a bite before a concert I was attending accross the street. I had just arrived from the Detroit area and was hungy! I found the place a little dark on inside from the middle of the bar back but was greeted by a friendly hostess and seated by the open windows at front of the bar. Could see much better there. The menue looked yummy and the drinks sounded great. My waitress came to take my drink and food orders and was very pleasant as well and was happy to help me select a drink. The food didn't take too long to arrive. Looked great tasted great! I ordered the Pesto Chicken Sandwich which had cheese and roasted red peppers on it as well. There was some of the seed/membrane on one of the pepper strips and could've used a bit more of the pesto but overall the sandwich was tasty. Tender chicken, plenty of cheese, fresh bread. The sandwich was served with yummy lightly seasoned fries that also had bits of (what I'm guessing was) parmisan cheese and a crisp dill pickle spear. My drink was delicious as well (got some kind of tropical mix - sorry I can't remmeber the name of it). Bad Dog Tavern is in a neat part of town so it was also fun to watch the people that were walking around the neighborhood. A nice mix of folks. Good, friendly service. Fresh, yummy food. Good seating. Very reasonably priced for Chicago!
A friendly neighborhood bar – nothing fancy mind you but we enjoy the free entertainment on Fridays and the singing and dancing too. We have also watched several playoff games there as the big-screens are well positioned throughout and the prices are reasonable as compared to other locations. Quite a diverse crowed too; a good mix of young and old based on our experience. Everyone who walks in is encourage, at some point, to join in the fun. John's host's and is quite the showman as he tries to get everyone involved. I must admit that it’s also nice to walk around and chat with people and not have to worry about some goof slithering up next to my wife as she enjoys the show. An all-around, decent neighborhood bar!
This is my favorite Korean restaurant in Chicago so far. Everything I've had is sooo good... all of the ban chan, ja jang myun, kalbi, and bulgogi. The kimchi jigae is tastey to me, though my boyfriend complains that it is not spicy enough. He always asks them to add a little something to make it extra spicy, but maybe they think that he can't handle it because he's a hwaiteu? :D We also like to order a bottle of soju to go along with our meal. It tastes very smooth, but will get you pretty buzzed so be careful! Costs about $10 a bottle. Another bonus is Service is good for a Korean place. I highly recommend this place.
The place was pretty packed when I went in on a Friday night but the wait staff was very attentive and made sure we sat down within 5-10min. Our waiter was not so great, he was in and out in a flash and rushed us. We ended up ordering two appetizers and sharing them because I wanted to go somewhere else. We got the scallops which were amazingly fresh and the citrus garnish was fantastic. The queso fundido was good but the chorizo underneath was burnt and the tortilla strips didn't taste that fresh. Overall I would say the scallops saved the place but don't go in on a busy night or you'll be rushed in and out.
I also wrote this review on Yelp.com: I was fortunate enough to hire Tyler Grey Professional Bartending Services for a last minute private party I had in my home recently and was very impressed. First off most other services wanted to gouge me for booking a party last minute; not cool. I found this service through some friends who had used this business for their wedding reception. The bartenders were great, professional, friendly and the guests loved them. The were on-time, had everything set up before the guests got there; I have no complaints. I'd use these guys again with no hesitation.
Awesome spot for a business lunch. There are numerous decisions on the menu so it doesn't make a difference who you're bringing, I'm certain they'll discover something they need to attempt. I attempted the Turkey Club and it was a Big sandwich with Roasted turkey, fresh lettuce, new tomatoes, and firm bacon. The french fries were fresh on the outside and delicate within - simply like any great french fries ought to be. The service is quick also - awesome for a business lunch. I profoundly suggest this spot for an easygoing business lunch tuned in!
I first went to reyolds for a birthday party, and had a great time there. I went back for a second time and the the good times kept on rolling. The third time out was just as great. The music was wonderful from start to finish. Looking for a good stiff drink and some time on the dance floor for steppin then this is the place to be. Come as you are and have a ball. The long Island ice tea in the place will sit you right for the nite. No trouble no fuss just us. No thrills just good old dancing and fun. Come early to get a seat is all I`ll say.
Had our girls night at this place and we will definitely be back!! The feel of the place is pretty cool, music is ok (could be better) and the drinks... AMAZING!! We ordered a little bit of everything and they were delicious but super strong. Highly recommend to go while the kitchen is open so that you can snack while you drink. The staff was very friendly. The only down side: it is hard to find because the entrance is in an alley, and there may be a line to get it (not cool when it's freezing outside) Overall grade: B++
I'm just visiting Chicago this is my first time and I thought they had outstanding customer service. The waiters and waitresses were really nice and the manager let us know when we came for brunch but there's about 15 more minutes before it closed for lunch but as long as we got our order and they would still make us breakfast which I thought was nice the food was really good it had a really great atmosphere definitely recommend checking it out
Visited late Friday night about 9:30 pm. Tried the fish special, its was the best tasting fish we ever had. The noise from the bar downstairs was a bit distracting at times, but visually pleasing dining room upstairs. The pasta was simple, fresh, filling and very inexpensive. Was a large portion for a split portion. Wait staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would recommend this location to anyone but would find a quieter time of day.
