Our daughter was enrolled in P...

Our daughter was enrolled in Parmer Children's Montessori Academy (PCMA) from the end of April 2011 until August 2012 in the Primary 1 class. We moved to this school after seeing a decline in the education and the continuous teacher turnover in her previous daycare/preschool causing us to become very concerned for our daughter's education. We were greeted by a warm staff and were impressed by how clean and organized the center was. We were shown work of some of the children in the Primary class and we were very pleased to see how much they were learning and the level of the work they were doing. We immediately enrolled. Our daughter fit right in and we saw her blossom educationally from her first day there. Upon returning from her first day, she excitedly told us the whole life cycle of a butterfly. She continued to come home in the weeks that followed telling us about the different modules they were learning from the types of whales, to the water cycle, the phases of the moon, the solar system, etc. The teachers were easy to talk to about any concerns. Mrs Suma quickly realized how much our daughter was excelling and grasping all of the material and set out to challenge her by giving her advanced workbooks. Our daughter also learned addition, subtraction, improved her reading and writing skills tremendously. Prior to coming here she was able to put sounds together and could read some words phonetically. However, in Mrs Suma's class her reading took off. She started Kindergarten this school year 2012-2013 and due to how advanced she was and her desire to learn we had her tested for the first grade within the first 3 weeks of school. When evaluated, after a week in first grade (1st - 4 week evaluation), her reading levels were already above what she is supposed to score at the end of first grade. Additionally, her skills in other areas were advanced as well. She was able to compete academically in first grade due to the solid foundation that she received at PCMA. PCMA also taught her to embrace diversity as the student makeup at this center is diverse. I would highly recommend PCMA for any parents looking for a quality, clean, and nurturing environment that will enable your children to achieve their full potential. The center's founder and director, Mrs Jodi Someshwar, is very passionate about her center. This passion is reflected in her dedication to ensuring the children and parents receive the best experience possible.

Healthy & Loving Learning Envi...

Healthy & Loving Learning EnvironmentMy kid has been enrolled in PCMA for almost 2 years and I have never touched the ‘animal cracker’ jar mentioned by previous poster. I have always waited patiently for one of the staff member to get free and give my kid some crackers. They have a hygiene protocol and I totally respect it. If any kid is restless, I believe there are enough interesting things in the lobby area and library to entertain him/her. After hearing horror stories about other kids falling repeatedly sick after joining any new school, I was attracted to PCMA’s promise to create a healthy environment for kids and they have lived up to the promise. My kid rarely gets sick at this establishment. The building layout with bathrooms, little sinks and tissue dispenser at kid’s reach in each room; Special flooring which uses less chemicals to clean; Good hygiene protocols for cooking and serving food; Use of disposable plates and utensils for every meal; Daily sterilization of toys and weekly cleaning of cot linens; Good sick kid policies- These are just a few examples of how passionate PCMA’s director Jodi is about the health of the kids in the school. I recall discussing the weekly menu with her and her request to get store-bought muffins as a healthy and safer alternative to homemade cup cakes for celebrating birthdays. I was surprised how detail oriented she was. On many occasions, I have noticed she has a similar attitude about my kid’s curriculum, about the special summer activities, about creating a healthy and loving Learning Environment for the kids.I can relate to Jodi’s reaction to the previous poster. How else was she supposed to react when someone was even unintentionally trying to disrupt that healthy and loving environment she works so hard to create? Thanks for standing up for your beliefs and our kids, Jodi!!

I am writing mainly about the Pre-K class as that is the class my daughter is in, although my daughter has been going here over two years, I have noticed a lot of change in personnel in the younger class but with the pre-k class Ms. Sarita and the manager Ms. Cynthia have been there since we started. I am also a parent of two children 8 and 4 and I am not expecting my child to be watched like a hawk everyday all the time, especially when on the playground. She has gotten bumps and bruises from playing, or running into her friends on accident but I always get an accident report and it's normal - she is active and almost 5 years old. She loves her friends and will miss her teachers no doubt. This is an affordable school and they are flexible and fair and do fun things for holidays and in the summer the kids get to go to special places (my son went there last summer as well) They have also added cameras in each room for more piece of mind. My daughter can write 1-100 and is about to graduate and is now writing her name and writing almost all of her letters in the alphabet. She will be ready for kindergarten and I do recommend this school - but it might be better suited to parents with more than one child, most of the negative reviews I have seen expect perfection at a day care which is just not a reality . The kids are safe, the teachers and caregivers are nice and they care for my daughter. Turnover in child care unfortunately is a regular occurrence but Ms. Sarita and Ms. Cynthia have provided stability at Star Montessori.

This is probably the best daycare in Austin. The teachers are loving, kind and attentive. PCMA has been a blessing for us. I never have to worry about leaving the kiddo here - he is happy and content. he also learns a lot. the teachers have consistently been some of the most caring, creative and knowledgeable. Their facilities are always clean and free of clutter. The hallways and classrooms display the children's art/craft projectsThe director Miss Jodi at PCMA is awesome, kind when interacting with the kids, and very professional interacting with parents and staff. She is very experienced and helps parents know how the children are doing at the center and thier improvments/achivements. the children's day is structured really well and the facility is clean, modern, spacious and well organized. The teachers and staff at PCMA are very kind, compassionate and nurturing; the environment allows the younger children to learn great life skills. I was also impressed with the activities/ educational toys for the children who are beginning to learn.

My child turned 5 in July, and she is able to read and write simple books completely on her own, and more difficult ones with occasional assistance. The teachers are warm, friendly and affectionate with the children. They are always open to taking time and discussing any concerns with the parents. We are always sad when they move on to the next class up b/c their teacher was so wonderful, but then quickly learn that the next one is fantastic as well. I agree that the only negative is the TV time. I appreciate the diversity among the students, parents and staff, if that is of interest to prospective families. They also offer classes during daytime hours, making it easier on working parents to expose their children to more activities such as foreign language (Spanish and Chinese), dance, gymnastics, computer.

Be sure to visit my blog for the full article and coupon page for 15% off tuition to this location. https://challengerschool-review-roundrock-pflugerville-northaustin.com/..................Jaden was/is what we like to call a spirited child with tantrums and emotions galore. If we wanted to get him ready for school WE had to dress him. In order to get him to eat WE had to spoon feed him and forget taking him to a restaurant, the kid could not sit still!! He wouldn't pick up after himself and he was very shy, it was hard for him to make friends. The trade off in this case is he is a little brain. He has loved being read too since he was in diapers and his first word was puppy. We were consistently trying to find ways to feed his brain so we got him started on workbooks at an early age and couldn't buy enough of them because he woudl..... tough. Finally after research and several interviews at other educational facilities we cam across Challenger School.

Excellent customer service. Great program for high school seniors to use instead of public school system to get around placement issues. My daughter was #295 out of 315 in her graduating class. She dis-enrolled from school and joined this program, where she took a test and the next week she was a HS grad. Please note that my daughter is very bright, but was not applying herself at all at school. She had been Commended on her TAKS tests the year before. You have to know the material to test well, but it's more forgiving than a formal high school program. Worth every penny!

My husband and I have been very impressed with the level of care and instruction that my son has received in his primary class. I have no doubt that he'll be incredibly prepared for kindergarten. His teachers are very nurturing and knowledgeable, and I have been amazed at the leaps and bounds he's made. The directors have been effective, and we've had no issue whatsoever with the school. We are sad to age out and would recommend the facility.

This is a great school! We had two children at NWM for three years. It could not have been a better experience! The school is well-organized, child-centered, and diverse. Staff are experienced and provide a warm, caring environment. Our children entered first grade well ahead of their peers, and best of all, they love to learn. They will never forget Ms. Ali and their other teachers at NWM!

We had a great kinder experience. They really help your kid achieve their potential, in addition to teaching responsibility, independence, and how to approach their academics with enthusiasm. He LOVED it. Our own standards for what a good school can do have now been elevated. It is a well-rounded, nurturing environment!
