I called to enroll since I was told I would be put on the waiting list in 2014. It is December 2018 and no response about me on the waiting list. I assume a student answered which is fine and I told him I wanted to enroll. He gave the phone to a lady and said this person wants to enroll. She got on the phone and asked me what was it I needed. I said to enroll. She said so how can I help you... I asked her what I needed to do and she said (like I was wasting her time) “come to the school, and bring 3 headshots with you”. Huh? I asked what may have happened with the waiting list and she said “ you thought someone was supposed to call you?” I said “ok are there any other barber schools in Austin?” Her reply, “ what you’re going to want to do is google barber schools”. I have almost nothing but good to say about Kervin's Barber Shop.They are friendly, and customer service-oriented. However, on at least two occasions the clippers used to trim the hairline on the back of my neck have been jagged and sharp, and the second time the experience was painful. I later observed that my skin was red, and slightly broken in places. Had I dabbed alcohol on my neck I would have regretted it. Carelessness of this type is avoidable.
I had been coming to Joe for years. I always put up with his rudeness and loud know it all attitude because I was able to get a good cut. The final straw was when I suddenly had to go out of town for a funeral and was in desperate need for a cut... I walked in sat down for the cut and explained why I was there, I was getting over a cold and he asked if I was sick..... after lightly explaining my entire family was just getting through a cold, luckily before the funeral he rudely and without regard to the situation said I had to leave, after years of service I was shocked and thought at first he was joking, but he rudely responded he was not and went on a rant about how he wasn't taking the chance of getting sick , wasn't going to cut my hair and basically trying to say I was jeopardizing his lively hood.... a good hair cut is not worth having to put up with this guy's business !!
The absolute, unequivocally, worst haircut off my entire life. Highly disappointed and clearly dissatisfied with the service. I feel like I got the trainee, because my hair looks absolutely terrible. Luckily I can wear a hat most days so I can hide this disaster.

Julie is the BEST STYLIST ever. She takes her time, is a perfectionist, makes you feel super comfortable, and I left her feeling prettier than ever. She was so warm and welcoming it was like I had known her for years I was super nervous because I had never had highlights done before and she put me at ease I had a picture that I wanted her to make me look like but she did even better she really knows her stuff absolutely the best experience I've ever had!!! She has gained a client for life and I will tell all of my friends if you want it done right go to Julie
They have really good quality. My dad got a haircut and my baby sister and I were waiting and they have lollypops there for their costumers. My baby sister had grabbed 3 and this heavy set black women had got after her and put them behind the counter. First of all how rude she is a kid and then she goes and tells her coworker and her coworker just sat down and had got on her phone while sitting down again very lazy. There is guy there named Loise who was very nice, polite, and an awesome employe. Highly recommend you to ask for Loise. Please if you have children don't let them grab their candy.
I stopped in at Roosters now renamed Matador's Men's Grooming Center last Sunday for a hair cut and was amazed at how classy the wood paneled shop was. Then I was met with an offer of free beer, wine or soft drink while I waited for my turn in the chair. The hair cut was to perfection and then I got the first barber shop hot shave of my life. That hot towel shave was so fine that I nearly didn't have to shave the next day and my face felt so clean. I have been telling all my buddies about the place as I was so pleased with the hair cut, shave and friendly personnel.
Find another hairdresser. After 3 appointments, I will not be going back. Today was my 3rd appointment and the hairdresser did not show up. On my 1st appointment, she was 20 minutes late, the 2nd appointment she was again, 20 minutes late and today, she just plain did not show up.I kept asking the owner/barber (her brother) to call her to find out what her eta was and when she would be arriving. He kept telling me that she was "on the way". I sat quietly in the chair at her hair station waiting and the longer I waited, the angrier I became. My appointment was at 11 AM and I wound up walking out at 12:25 PM. I have never been treated so shabbily at a business in my life. Gaston's doesn't have to worry about me coming back and I won't be referring anyone to that shop either. Too bad, I like supporting minority businesses, but, I will not be supporting this one.
From my experience, this is the best barber shop in town!
