Outdoor Experience

Over the years my family has often frequented the store. We have bought two Kyaks and all of the equipment one needs for the Kyaks from the Outdoor Experience. My husband, a sports enthusiast enjoys purchasing outdoor equipment from sunglasses, clothing, and shoes from this store. Last year we considered buying a trek bike for our daughter. The owner has always been extremely friendly and quite knowledgeable about this part of the country. He is very approachable. However, during our last visit with my four year old daughter we encountered a salesperson who seemed very unfriendly. As I was trying on some flipflops my daughter was trying on a pair as well. After I had told her that she needed to stay with me and couldn't walk around in them the salesman told her that she needed to take them off and shouldn't have them on. The other saleswoman said that they looked cute on her and seemed very friendly. Another customer asked the original salesman why he had to be the "Mean-guy"? His response was that someone has to be. I imediately left the store feeling that it was clear that he didn't care for myself or my daughter and will no longer purchase another product from this store. Our business is clearly not needed. I don't mind someone correcting my child when something is being done wrong. However, she was right next to me and was carefully supervised. I infact was considering buying the pair she had one that she pointed out to me as well as the pair I had on. So my advise to others is not to bring your children into this store if you are wanting to shop. You will have a more positive experience if you leave them home.
