I went to this shop on Nov 23rd, 2011 and was not happy with the professionalism of the braiders. how are you going to braid hair and take care of 2 children...a baby and a 5 year old. You pay too much money to have to listen to the operators constantly yelling at the five year old and the many breaks to feed the baby...they should hire a babysitter! I was told that getting 2 strand twists would not take as long as micro braids...so not true. And I was also told one price on the phone but when I got there it was a $30 price difference so make sure you have the price settled. My strands look nice but it took approx. 8 hrs :( Next time I get braids or strands I will make sure my braider has no kids at work with her, you have to pay too much money for that kind of crap.
I got microbraids from a girl named Angel twice at Jumelle's and she is the best. She is very professional and does not take several breaks like some of the other braiders and she also does not have any children to mind at the shop. I would advise anyone that is looking to go to Jumelle to request Angel. Also, most of the other girls do hair well, but I think she is the best. I have kinda long, thick hair that has taken upto 14hrs with other Africans, but she took only eleven this second time! This may seem like a long time, but im sure you know that perfection can take a long time!. I gave Jumelle African Braiding 4 stars instead of 5 because I have to account for the other employees that may only deserve 3 or 4 stars, but Angel deserves 5 stars.
They are professional they dont take a break every 1 hour I have thick hair and they did my micro braids in about 6 hours. They dont talk to the customer much or cater to the customer much all they watches was Soccer in African. The braid pattern is flawless the parts are excellent be sure to tell them if you have thick hair they quoted one price on the phone and when i got there tried to charge 50 more I reminded them that they quoted me a cheaper price and that was all the money I bought with me so they did it for the original price. So if you go you will get out at a decent time but bring your headphones and magazines!
