We were pleasantly surprised with our experience with The Charcoal House. After reading the reviews, we had low-mid expectations. But since we live in Rock Hill, we wanted to support local restaurants. When you walk in, it smells great- of char broiled steaks and there is a low level of talking. The decor is a bit dated. But don't look into that too much. We were seated immediately and the server went over the whole menu. She ordered the Filet and I ordered the Ribeye. The meal came with a salad, she had the Cesar and I had the spinach. After our first glass of Cab, we started to get that intimate steakhouse vibe. When I entrees came, they were sizzling. Perfectly cooked to order. We will be back here for sure!

Sub par food, sub par service! It seems that Prime 1000 relies on out of town diners from hotels within walking distance. I can't see locals returning after their first experience. The service is very slow and in my case they didn't get the order right. The quality of the food was probably above that of some hotels but far below other restaurants in the area (especially for the price) They have a lot to learn about seating guests in the dining room. We arrived before 6:00 PM. The dining room was empty and the only seating options they offered were 6 tops. Not exactly great for conversation. We chose to eat at a high top in the bar area. Still not a good choice.
Awesome steaks, Awesome service!!! Morton's is a special occasion restaurant for a lot of diners. They treat everyone like a VIP or better yet, family. Food and service are outstanding. The wine list has something to satisfy everyone. Since they were acquired by Landry's, the menu has expanded far beyond steaks so there's something for everyone. I think the happy hour "Bar Bites" menu is the best kept secret in town. A 6 oz. USDA Prime filet served three ways for $7. Are you kidding me! If you work or live nearby this should at least be a weekly visit.
It was my wife and I first time at the establishment and we came for the steaks. Overall atmosphere was cozy & personal, very good on table spacing. Our server Steve B. was great(ask for him), he paid attention to detail and was prompt without being overbearing. The wife had the "dry-aged" strip while I had the classic 16oz strip. We requested both medium-well but got them medium-rare and had to send them back. They did get it right the 2nd time around for me but my wife's was still slightly on the rare side. We will go back though.
My first experience at Ruth's Chris downtown was FANTASTIC! We managed to get the best seat in the house with an amazing view of the arch. The server provided excellent service and even the manager stopped by to check in on us. The place was great and the food was perfect. It could not have been a better evening. Yes, the food is a little pricey but it was worth it and I will be going back.
My wife and I both had the ribeye and thought they were quite tough. For a steak priced at over $30 each you would think they would be a very tender steak. I think you get a better value at Lone star and a better steak. The meals only come with a choice of potato and a slice of bread, salad is extra. The atmosphere was very nice however.
The steak was excellent and the service was friendly, with my water glass always kept full. However my friend's salmon entree came out genuinely cold, I received no knife with my steak, and in general the quality of the service was no better than average. For the price, that is disappointing.
I have been here twice for business and with some friends. I actually live just down the street. Yeah it's a little on the pricey side but the food is terrific both times I went were great experiencs
Great steaks. They have bacon jelly. Trust me you want to try it. They have their own butcher on site. Give it a shot. My only reservation in writing this, is it may be harder for me to get in.
The food and service is fantastic. They have some pretty cool night clubs in the back too. The price was a little high for my taste, but they steak I ate was the best I have ever had.
