I was considering purchasing at Casa De Flores, but seeing all the consistent, negative reviews and the few 'good' reviews that seem like they were paid advertisements. I've decided to skip buying here. Thanks to all for the reviews.
I visited this community in person and ignored the negative comments. While it is a very nice looking park and the majority of the homes are well cared for I did speak to 2 residents I saw pushing strollers with pets and expressed my concerns about the bad reviews. I was told the husband and wife team who are supposed to be managing the place are down to only the wife since her husband is incapable of doing any work. The manager is too old to do anything outside of office-clerical so she has appointed a staff of personal friends to handle the rest and to be aware that office hours at the park are very limited. I had the misfortune to meet and speak to one of these assistant managers who was driving around the community in a white truck with a magnetic Casa de Flores sign on it so I flagged him down and inquired about some of the homes for sale. He was rude, acted as if I was wasting his time and smelled strongly of beer. As a result of my short visit I've concluded that the negative comments are indeed true and I have lost interest in purchasing a home someplace with that much drama.
Couldn't be happier living here the past year! As a young female professional, it's important that I'm at ease coming home. I feel safe in this park because people are courteous to each other, although most people keep to themselves which is fine with me. maintenance takes care of the park every day, I see security cameras on every lane, and it's gated all around. Best of all, I can live with my two dogs!
very nice quiet little park. been living here for 2 years. better lot rent rates than other parks, neighbors are nice and courteous, shaded trees, easy drive to work, only park with a secured gate in the area. Stan's a great manager. I wish there was a swimming pool...
We have lived here 7 months, and it has been a Good and satisfying living experience. Sue the park manager is all over any issues that come up. Sue is also a people person and creates Funprojects for us all here at the Club House. This is a third time beinga mobile park owner.
yes, it is so obvious that the great reviews written were coached. " just drive thru and see for yourself" was the phrase repeated . what is the worst is not what lies on the outside but the inner workings of a corrupt management . this is an elderly park and the people/persons responsible for its operation should be equipped to handle the sudden health issues that happen to all people and the changes involved. not be all to ready to take a person out of their home, a home they bought and paid for. the parks are quick to be cruel and have lost the true aspect of what an elderly/retirement senior citizen park is supposed to be about. just saying
This is a follow-up to my 2009 comments. I have noticed over the years that the park doesn't look nearly as manicured as it did in the past. The current managers don't seem to care so the people just let their yards go. The theft is still on-going which is maybe why people don't keep their yards nice anymore. The thieves will just steal their decorations. However, they recently announced they are installing cameras. Hopefully, this won't result in a huge rent increase. The worse aspect of this park is that you can NOT walk your dog in the park. We have tried for years to get this changed but are always told NO! This is hard on the animals because they don't get any exercise and hard on the adults who could also use the walking exercise. We are allowed to have a pet but not allowed to walk it. Does that make sense? As I said years ago, I would move to a more pet friendly place but I wouldn't get enough out of my home to pay off the small balance owed. I would not recommend buying a home here if you are a pet owner.
This was once a wonderful park to live in but not anymore.Management is joke!Look elsewhere if you wish to purchase a home in a senior only community.
A manager who surrounded herself with a small group she provides special favors for. She allows underage people and sells trailers very cheap when they become owned by the park. Pays her friends to do jobs that she won't but should do. Ask around about her assistant and next door neighbor who drives all over the neighborhood in the co owned truck golf cart or his car drinking beers. Is this what the renters are paying her salary for? I lived at casa de flores many years and i have several friends who still live there. i play bingo there and their opinion is management is still horrible.Nice kept homes have nothing to do with management its the careing home owners. The poorly maintained yards and un kept houses are the real reflection of the manager who does a little as possible.
Parks "Social Club" is powerless to address the MANY SHORT COMINGS in regards to enforcing rules which the management team would rather ignore then deal with. Unless you belong to the manager's 'clique' be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen of the community. The managers and their small group of friends have even gone so far as to set themselves up a very nice personal smoking area (equipped with propane patio heater) right outside the park's clubhouse which is in direct violation of the State of California's law restricting second hand smoke near a community used area. Since there are no zeroes, I can only give that place a '1'. Id move in a heartbeat if home prices here weren't so pathetically low.Invest elsewhere would be my advice!
