I'm a dog walker in St. Johns and I had an experience yesterday that I thought I'd add to the pile of complaints about this place and its owner, Linda.A client asked me to drop their dog off in the morning for a few days of boarding. As we walked through the door of the shop, I heard voices in the daycare area, which surprised me since it's usually devoid of humans (as well as toys, furniture, or any sort of enrichment). As I approached the cutout window between the areas, I saw Linda bent over a dog and repeatedly pointing a finger in his face as she screamed at (or near) the top of her lungs, "NO! I HAVE HAD IT! YOU LIE DOWN NOW!" The dog was already flattened to the floor with his ears pinned back.Let me be clear about her volume: She wasn't yelling out of exasperation, she was doing everything she could to intimidate the dog with her volume and body posture. Maybe that would be appropriate as a last-ditch effort to stop a dog from attacking, but I saw an employee rubbing an area of the mat with a towel, so apparently the unforgivable sin the dog committed was peeing indoors. At a dog daycare.I said, "I have a dog to drop off," and she turned toward me and said sweetly, "Well, who do we have here?" She wasn't sheepish or embarrassed and she offered no explanation or apology. Clearly, this is just standard behavior for her. This is how she treats dogs.I convinced my client to pull their dog from Dog's Life and I'm now taking care of her instead.Yelp contains a large collection of witness accounts of Linda's consistently reprehensible behavior. These are not occasional lapses in judgment. They are clear evidence of a pattern of abuse. This place should be shut down and Linda should be nowhere near dogs, and probably not near any other living creature, either. There are plenty of other boarding and daycare centers in the area. Please stay away from this one.

A good vet is hard to find. Tigard animal hospital is a great vet. Their prices are extremely reasonable, the staff is very nice (to both people and…
I used this service for the first time in february this year, I loved the people and the facilities. My two labs were so calm when I picked them up and happy I could tell they were treated very well.
BEWARE - YOUR DOGS SAFETY & HEALTH ARE AT RISK. I have been taking my dog to Lexi for almost 10 months on a consistent basis and have experienced alarming and irresponsible business practices that should compel you to look elsewhere. Vaccinations are not up to date on dogs interacting with others at daycare - confirmed by the Multnomah County Animal ControlDog bites and aggression have no protocol in place to address - my dog was left bleeding for 2 hours without a call and without a manager or owner to convey leaving me without details of what happened, next steps, and forcing me to go to emergency room care instead of vet because of the late hour. Not vets but applied medicine to my dog that the vet said did more harm to him.Overcharge when paying in cash thinking you will not notice at the excitement of handing over your dog. THINK TWICE
Unsafe, unfriendly, and unsanitary. Please don't bring your dogs here. These people are not running a good business and Portland will be better off once they are gone.
Don't do it! First, this is an open-play facility with too many dogs- all mixed together regardless of size, age, and level of activity- and way too little space and supervision. Second, I made a reservation, paid the full amount, and then canceled the reservation when I realized how many dogs they were going to have over the holidays and that they have no way for boarding dogs to have their own space during the day and evening. I did so before their stated 72-hour cancelation window and should have received a full refund. Well, the business decided to deposit my check ($248 for boarding), issue a partial refund ($100), and keep the remaining $148 for no reason at all. They've ignored all of my emails attempting to resolve the issue. If you want a business to put your young, old, shy, or insecure dog at risk... or are looking for someone to steal $148 from you and ignore their own refund policy, this is the place for you!
Would definitely NOT recommend! Customer service is atrocious! They seem very unorganized which is surprising because they have been in business for at least ten years. You'd think they would have their act together by now.
Based on what I have seen thru the window from the street, I would NEVER take my dog to this Doggie Day Care! I walked by about a year ago and glanced thru the window and saw a few dogs laying around with no one in sight, eventually someone came in and wiped up some pee and left. Now, here is is a year later, I was running a few errands in the neighborhood and glanced inside the daycare again. Lots of dogs running around but again NO staff in sight! As I watched for about another 5 minutes, I saw 2 dogs nipping at a black & white collie / sheltie mix and had it backed into a corner each taking jabs at it. This was not playful at all and then the collie mix laid on its back in a surrendering state and one of the dogs went for his neck and was very aggressive. AGAIN - NO STAFF ON THE FLOOR. The staff from what I did see are sitting on a stool in the office in the other room and sometimes looking over into the play area. Then if they decide to get up, they have to go thru a door, then thru a gate which is not timely or close enough to break up a fight if one did occur. I have my dog at a daycare across town where there are 1 or 2 staff members on the floor at ALL times. Whether it be picking up poop, playing with the dogs, interacting or making sure bad behavior does not happen and it is corrected immediately. With what I saw today, I felt really bad for potential dog owners who take theirs to this facility and worse for the dogs being put into a situation that does not have their safety come first. It's very obvious the staff isn't hands on, unless it's to clean up a mess. I have NEVER seen any of them interact with the dogs, or look at all interested. My advice if you love your dog and care about it's safety and happiness.....DON'T TAKE IT HERE!!!!!
I cannot express how upset I am with this facility. I recently picked my dog up from boarding at 4 Paws after a number of days. She was filthy and limping. When I asked how my dog was injured I was told they they did not know. They said she went outside and came back inside limping. They were very unkind and said that I can't recover any of my boarding cost or vet bills because I signed a waiver. I was also told, "Dogs injure themselves all the time. It could have happened anywhere." I am appalled by their insensitivity and I will NEVER take my dog there again.
