They leave trash all over from emptying the dumpster. When asked why they don't clean up the mess they've made, the Sanitation worker replied "because I'd have to charge extra". Why would you have to charge extra for failing to properly execute your job as Sanitation? That's simply laughable.

If I could put no stars I would. One of the trucks backed into my wifes vehicle. Rather than own up they denied any wrong doing. Dealt with Monte, rather than face the facts he decides to continue to deny any wrong doing. Even though all the evidence points to the contrary. On top of that no one at the business will give me their insurance info to let them decide. If you're not guilty why not give me that? Will never do business with crooks like this and will share my experience with anyone I encounter. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!!!!
When Abe's switched to the changed holiday schedule, I didn't know my trash wasn't going to be picked up because I didn't follow them on Facebook. I was a little frustrated, but no big deal. When I called to ask about it, thinking I had maybe missed something, no one answered and I heard some old, out of date hold message. Then, I got my usual bill, and a week later, I got a late notice...for a bill that wasn't late. So I called, and before I could even finish my sentence, the receptionist cut me off and told me to "disregard it." I was a little shocked at how rude she was, but tried to brush it off.I recently got a flyer in the mail from a competitor and after the frustration, (and seeing that it would be cheaper per month), and the way I had been treated, I decided to switch. I called to cancel and she asked why. I told her, frankly, I was disappointed with the customer service, to which her response was, "ok." Ok...she asked when I wanted the can picked up and I told her August 6th. She then "pro-rated" my amount due...and I'm pretty sure she over-charged me, I was distracted by my son when I gave her my payment info and wasn't really paying attention. Well, August 6th came and went, and that Abe's trash can is still sitting in my driveway! They didn't pick it up. So this morning, I called and politely asked what had happened. After she asked my address, she rudely repeated it back to me. And then she asked me when I was "supposed to have cancelled service." That's when I got angry. I told her - last Friday. I talked to YOU. I paid YOU. She told me she would "try" to get someone out to pick it up today. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that there was no one in the office today. She offered to take a message, but I'm assuming that message won't be making it to any supervisor. There is no way to email anyone on their website, so she's my only way to get to anyone there. I'm SO GLAD I switched to someone else - anyone else. I'll still be calling on Monday to try to have someone fix what I was charged for, but who even knows if I'll get through to a supervisor.
We have used Abe's for our residential trash collection for nearly 35 years and 3 different homes. During that period we had been nothing but thrilled with the service we received. It is unfortunate that recently a decision was made to "reroute" service to northwest omaha. While within the Omaha area, many families because of their size and desire for better service, chose to supplement Deffenbaugh with Abe's. Recently Abe's chose to schedule pick up for the exact same day and time as deffenbaugh. When clients complained and ultimately terminated their service, Abe's did little to acknowledge or address long term client concerns. No explanation or apology was given and little attention was paid to the loss of so many clients. I am saddened that having supported a local and family owned business for so many years, that we too will now be terminating our service. I can only surmise that these changes reflect a change in management and policy. I hope that one day management would reconsider, but for now I can only express my deep disappointment for the lack of long term client support.
Always neat and timely. Even though they were slightly higher in cost for my area I knew that they never left behind a mess like some of the trash companies.They always seem to be happy and smiling. Only once in nearly 5 years have I called about being missed.
