They are the worst to deal with. The most uncaring, unhelpful place I have had the displeasure to deal with. I do not understand how any Dr can send their patients here for any procedure. This is my 2nd time having to deal with them. They need to get their employees trained on how to be professional. I am trying to set up an appt to have a procedure. They tell me don't call them, they will call me. I have never been so disrespected, ever. My BP has risen to a dangerous level just having to deal with them.
A REALLY GOOD DOCTOR AND STAFFThe Doctor is superb! Very knowledgeable, professional, caring, compassionate, great bedside manner. The front office staff is very nice, always smiling and courteous. I brought my 90 year father to Dr. De La Torre and he was very kind, patient and explained everything-no rush. A very experienced doctor. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any GI problems to anybody. A very gentle and caring man.
The only word that comes to mind when mentioning this "so-called" physician and his ENTIRE practice is GARBAGE!! Please note that this assessment is not coming from some "over-emotional" individual with limited knowledge of healthcare, but from someone with over 22 years of experience in handling medical insurance claims, prior authorizations, payment determinations and most importantly, provider reviews. Having worked with just about every union from the Culinary Union to the Teamsters Union and dealing with complaints from membership in regards to various medical providers, I can honestly say that I have NEVER seen such a display of unprofessionalism and unwarranted rudeness in my life! My mother had been a long time patient of this provider and as her caregiver, I experienced a variety of interaction between her, this doctor and his otherwise incompetent staff. We were told by this physician that Medicaid did not provide coverage for organ transplants, in specific, those of the liver. I find that almost hysterical since just over 2 months ago I received a liver transplant surgery, which was ENTIRELY covered and paid for by my insurance carrier, which happens to be Smart Choice MEDICAID!! Upon returning to Las Vegas, following my surgery, I attempted to schedule an appointment for my mother with this doctor and was told she was no longer to be seen by this IDIOT because they had it on record that the had been seen by another physician in the gastroenterological profession for a second opinion on a previous diagnosis. I did not realize that there were doctors these days that because they were emotionally "BUTT-HURT" by a patient "sneaking behind their back" to see another provider, that they had the right to refuse service to this patient and since the patient happens to be my mother, I took particular offense to what was a clear act of classless prejudice, which I had never experienced before! I also had no idea that physicians were now "BIG BROTHER" companies which kept tabs on their patients to monitor if and when they were seen by the so-called 'COMPETITION'! "So sorry we stole money from your already inflated pockets!!" Hope you're not skipping any meals!! I then also realized that since I did not have the liver transplant surgery with the provider this moron was referring me to, that this could have played a role in their decision to no longer provide services to my mother as well. A warning to anyone reading this who is looking for an ethical, reasonable and most of all, PROFESSIONAL gastroenterologist....GO TO SOMEONE ELSE!!! ANYONE ELSE!!! No one deserves the treatment that myself, my family and surely countless of unnamed other individuals have received from this SORRY excuse for a doctor and his purely PATHETIC staff!!(Especially his office manager!!) So please choose wisely and head as far away from this "second-rate" practice as possible!! Thank you. P.S. the ONE star was generous!!
It is so frustrating dealing with the W. Sahara office. I have tried 5 times to contact Deja for my prescription for a procedure in five days. I left four messages for her. Actual talked to someone who promised to call in prescription and she did not., Called and talked to Ilva and she put me on hold for 32 minutes, after holding it went to Deja voice mail. Back to square one again. Incompetent people.
I have been going to Dr. De La Torre, M.D. for several years and my whole family goes there. I find him to be one of the truly caring doctors in Las Vegas. As for these comments about bad staff .....it is difficult to find good people who want to work and who are going to have positive attitudes. This has nothing to do with the doctor and I know he make changes if that happens to be the case. Not everyone in that office is a family member I believe there is only one family member working there. The rest are hired employees. The quality of Dr. D himself Is by far one of the best doctors I have been to in Las Vegas. He is not aggressive with over treating a patient. He listens and explains. There may be a wait when you go there but that's because he is taking time with each person answering your questions fully. If you are looking for a place that's fast i.e. the Supercuts of medicine then don't go to this place but if you want to see a doctor who cares about his patients and this is the place. He does not over treat a patient. He does not add the insurance codes to make extra money. He is truly an honest man. He listens and explains. There may be a wait when you go there but that's because he is taking time with each person answering your questions fully. If you are looking for a place that's fast i.e. the Supercuts of medicine then don't go to this place. When my mother was alive he took exceptional care of her was kind caring and she loved him. She was always nervous about going to the doctor but she likes going there.
Terrible office staff that I have every encountered. They are extremely unprofessional and rude and all related to the doctor so they act however they want which is unprofessional and mean. Dr does not have a compassionate bedside manner and constantly interrupts you. The wait time to get and appointment and see the doctor is extremely long. Take your business elsewhere to another gastro specialist. This dr and office has numerous bad reviews and complaints with the medical board
My wife went to Dr Nemec for colon cancer screening and was given a clean bill of health. 12 month later she was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. I was at the same dr, got my screening repeated by a different provider and was told I had two polyps. I am not sure what Dr. Nemec is looking at, but it was NOT our intestines.
Absolute worst admin staff I have ever experienced. The doctor is not much better. I went in today to pick up my wife's paperwork (because we had to find a better doctor) and they had a radio blasting in the reception area. There was nobody in the room so I turned it down. The reception window slid open and the lady said "can you turn my music back on?" I replied "after we are done talking I will".. very unprofessional... Also wanted me to pay $1.20 per page for her records...
