My first encounter with Dr. Carlson was when he took over the care of my very ill cat 8 years ago and literally saved his life. Since then, he has overseen the medical care of my many cats and dogs. He is clear in his explanations about diagnoses and treatment plans and when my pets have reached the end of their lives, he has helped with that transition with sensitivity. His staff likewise treat my pets as they would like their own pets to be treated.

Have taken our schnauzers to American Pet for years and wouldn't go anywhere else!! Friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy, love pets!!! Highly recommend!!!!
I wish I would give them less than one star. I took my goldendoodle in for a trim yesterday and they cut off all of her hair. When I called this morning and asked Joey why he did that, he say her face was "extremely matted" (which was NOT true). When I told him that was a lie he said that "there is no specific haircut for goldendoodles". I also told him that was not true and he then said that the owner and my husband had agreed to cut off one inch. I told him that we did not give approval for them to cut off all of her hair (approximately 4-5 inches) and he said he did not have to listen to that and hung up.
Wouldn't even give it a star honestly. My dog is very sick in her old age. I specifically asked if they could TAKE HER OUT every hour because she's on diaretics, which keeps fluid from building up on her heart and lungs. the women I spoke to said yes multiple times that it wouldn't be a problem. When I came to pick her up I asked how many times she had went and the same women said "oh well there's slates in the bottom so if they go it's no problem so I'm not sure" so I asked if she even took her she replied "oh I didn't know that's what you meant" how you could not know is absolutely beyond me when she got into my car she was dripping urine. She couldn't control her bladder. She now drips all the time. She also still had dirt on her, which I washed her myself now so she's clean, and parts of her were incredibly short cut, and other parts weren't cut hardly at all. We've been taking our dogs there for over 10 years. I am astounded. They have lost my family's business. I get having a bad day but if a old literally last stage of heart failure, so doing everything how it needs to be done is the way to keep her out of pain and discomfort, dog comes in and your not equiped to handle it, next time say so. That's all I wanted was an honest answer. All of this was inexcusable.
I have been taking my dogs here for years. The staff is amazing and I trust them whole hearted. My dog is always excited to go and can't wait to get in the door to play with the other dogs. I love how handsome he feels when I pick him up. Thank you too the entire team. You all are an extended part of my family.
Everyone from the vet to the receptionist are very friendly and know what their doing. I've taken two of my animals there who sadly had to be put down due to cancer. They sent a card for my ferret to my wife and I saying how sorry they are for our loss. When we had to put down our first baby together cat they took paw prints and put it into a cast and wrote her name on the other side along with another card with kind words for our loss. They know what they are doing and only care about well being of your animal whether it be a ferret, cat, dog, rabbits, rats and so on and so fourth. These people are amazing and actually cares for your animals. To me it doesn't matter how much money they ask as long as my animals are taken care of and they do this even if some times it's hard on us who remain in the physical world. Money isn't everything it's the well being of your animals that should be the most important thing. So if you want your animals to be in good hands then I highly recommend this place because they truly care and want what's best for your furbabies.
I LOVE bringing my dogs here. I have 2 collies so not quick to groom. Joey is our groomer and my dogs love him . He is so patient and sweet to them. Other ladies during check in time give my dogs attention and pets. We tried other places as well but are very loyal
I would have liked to put no star. I took my dog to have her nails clipped. I am trying to find a groomer closer to where I have moved so this was my first time there. The groomer (Joey) who said he was the owner clipped her nails and clipped 2 of them too short causing them to bleed. He told me about it and said he put styptic on them. By the time I got home, the dog had bled all over everything in my truck and house. It took me forever to get the bleeding to stop using wet cloths and corn starch. I immediately called Joey and told him what happened. He did not seem concerned at all about the dog bleeding so bad and the fact blood was all over everything. He did not apologize and, until I mentioned that fact to him and after saying I was sorry I paid him to create this problem, he told me I could come back and get my money but, only today. I now have to watch and make sure my dog does not get an infection. I have had her nails clipped at other places where I use to live and never had this problem. I am so upset and worried for my dog right now. This was a horrible experience. I would not take any animal I loved to this place.
Kennel staff are young kids and dont care and the owner is there only for the money.... i called and they gave me a price for 3 days and was goin to be $67 . So i took my dog there to drop him off when i got there i gave them all of his shot records and paid for it upfront.. when i went back 3 days later to pick him up they brought him out and the young kid was so high that could not walk straight line and was laughing nonstop so i made a comment to the lady behind the desk and all she could do is say im sorry. Then she asked for me to sign the paper work and then she handed me a bill for $320 i told her i had paid in fullwhen i drop him off .she the said that was just for the the boarding this bill is for the shots and to be seen by the vet. So she called her "megan" and she came down and said that they dont take shot records from petsmart and thay had to give all the shots again and had to be seen by the vet. No one called to tell me or anything so i refused to pay and she said that they had my cc on file and would charge it.so i asked to talk to vet he want there that day or rest of the week..so whos looking at the animals then??? I asked if there is anyone else there to talk to about this and the office manger is gone and shes the only one there and that i would have to call later..i check my cc and they did bill me so i called and talked to carol and all she said its the " new girls" fault and the ones the trained her and she cant do anything about my charges so i asked to talk to the owner dr jones and she sent me to his vocie mail.. i have called to talk to him 7 times and hes either not there or they send me to vocie mail. I stoped payment on it but yet they have time to send me bills and call me to pay for it.......never again will deal with him or that place again
We have a silky poo and a yorkie poo. They both come back from here looking amazing and for a fair price. We have been at least 6 times over the past few months and no issues to report. The groomer is even comes in early to ensure we can drop off our dogs before work. I would recommend this place to anyone.
