I have been eating here for years and over the years I have found number of things in soup and salad that should not have been there. I always showed them what it was and they laughed and apologized and changed it. I'm not easily discussed by bugs and hair in my food and salad so because of my close proximity I have been going back there but what broke the camels back was that some of the waiters here stopped talking to me and would pass by without even looking at my direction and these are people I have known for 10 plus years and I just could not figure out what the hell was going on and on my last visit there I found out that they overheard my conversation with another guest about election and found out who I was supporting and based on that waiters decided they didn't like me and did not want to serve me no more.Wow. I guess I should have made a big stink when I found all that crap in my food and salad all those times, huh?
I recently started working nearby, and have been here several times for lunch. It's a favorite among my peers. They have plenty of space for larger lunch groups, and the ambiance is fantastic and really gives you the feel for the culture. The service is very friendly too. They have an extensive lunch menu with plenty of meat dishes, but I'm vegetarian so I haven't tried any of them. However, it is popular among my meat-eating peers. For us vegetarians, there are no fewer than 7 lunch entrees without meat, including several Mediterranean dishes I haven't seen elsewhere, like their spicy walnut dip and their vegetarian fava bean stew.
For my first try of middle eastern food in this area, this was pretty good. My coworkers go here all the time so I decided to try it out. I got the beef kabob plate, which was very good. I got hummus and tabbouleh as my sides. The tabbouleh was kinda bland, and I didn't like it very much but the beef and hummus were great.Reasonable prices and easy parking in the small lot or on the residential streets adjacent to it.
Kinda hard to stand out for med food in a town like Glendale, but Skafs is definitely in the top-tier. Cabbage salad and hummus are fresh and entrée plates are very tasty and well-proportioned. Family-owned/operated joint so the service always seems personal… like you’ve been invited into their home and they’ve got a plate of hot food waiting... and you don't have to offer to help clean up afterwards - haha.
Best Lebanese food around... While there's no shortage of Lebanese places in Glendale, this one stands out for food quality and friendly service. Lots of outdoor spaces as well as indoor. Centrally located and with off-street parking in the back. Of course, there are plenty of vegan/vegetarian options for those of us so inclined.Only, slight drawback, this is not a fast restaurant. Sit back, relax, enjoy.
You can find a number of middle eastern restaurants in Glendale and I've tried many but this place is my favorite. I don't normally like middle eastern food too much but Cafe Bravo is only exception. My favorite is Lamb Kebab and Tabouleh and hummus are two sides I always pick. You can also choose other sides like corns, veges, salad etc... Good Lamb kebab for less than $10 is very reasonable.
I have Celiac disease, and generally speaking Mediterranean food is easy for me to eat so long I don't get the tabbouleh or pita bread. Unfortunately, even usually just requesting "no pita" still ends up with me having to send my food back because they didn't mark it down correctly. I've been sick and won't be back anytime soon, which is a bummer because the food was otherwise great.
The Lamb is AMAZING! This little hole in the wall place offers great kabobs, especially succulent lamb at a really affordable price. If you get a kabob plate with an extra skewer of meat, it's more than enough for 2 people. Only giving it 4 stars because it's not the greatest atmosphere to dine in, but "to go" orders are definitely the way to go and worth the short wait.
Great Persian dining. Outdoor and indoor seating and often times indoors they have someone performing Persian music. The servers here are fantastic. They are very attentive and patiently explain the dishes. I myself love their stews like ghormeh sazbi which is chunks of beef with lots of stewed greens. Husband enjoys their barg (flat filet)beef kebab.
Excellent. Food, Service, everything was wonderful. I went with a group of 4 adults and although a little pricy they presented us with more food then we could ever eat, and everything was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Warning – Friday and Saturday night there is a dress code and entertainment.
