Provided by SuperpagesThe most innovative menu I have seen in Bloomington for sometime. Our waiter was both professional and entertaining. When he overheard it was our anniversary he sent us a free round of drinks! I will definitely make a return visit.

Provided by SuperpagesA local favorite, unique from all the chain restaurants and a sure visit when we have out of town company or go out to eat with a group of friends. Great atmosphere for conversation and the food is wonderful

Provided by SuperpagesI didn't have the greatest service from these guys before I will never be back again. The wait that I endured just to get a 3 dollar smoothie was unbelieveable. Sorry but this establishment should not make people wait over 20 minutes just to get a smoothie drink it is ridiculous.

Provided by SuperpagesThis place was awful! The service was horrible. We were told by our waitress that she was sorry she could not be more attentive because she had a larger table in the back. Too bad for us I guess. We order carne asada tacos that were so dry we could not even eat them. Also bruschetta that was disgusting and tasted like the inside of a salt shaker. Our bill ended up being over 80 bucks for two people and we left hungry. The owner was spoken to before we left and he was nothing but rude. We later went to Dennys and ate for 20 bucks and compared to Reality Bites it was fabulous. I will NEVER return to this establishment ever again. I will also tell my friends to do the same. Reality Bites, BITES!!!

Following its name, this restaurant bites. A short wait was promised, but turned into an hour and a half. In fact, our table was given away to another group who arrived later. After complaining, we were offered a free drink. Our server was decent, but did not check on the table often. Additionally, our parties food came out at all different times. Service, seating and the food all appeared unorganized. While the food was pretty good, it was not enough to make up for the rest of the experience. They have Chicago prices without the taste, service or atmosphere expected for the buck. I would not return nor would I recommend anyone else spend their money.

Provided by SuperpagesHaving had many different dining experiences, I can honestly say Reality Bites...bites! The atmosphere was cozy and trendy. The server was friendly. The actual service sucked. We chose an outside table. It took the server 40 minutes to get our water and a sangria (yes, he was reminded more than once). The other customers waited just as long. The hostesses seemed to just stand there vacuously. Please, you could at least make sure your customers have their water and bread /olive oil if they are expected to wait for an hour and a half for their appetizer. When the food finally arrived, we found it to be okay...nothing fabulous, just okay. If they improved on their service and found people who actually knew what they were doing, it would have been a better dining experience.

Provided by Superpageshaving dined at tapas places in Chicago, including Cafe Iberico and Avec, and places in Champaign and St; Louis area, I must say we are fortunate to have a place like Reality Bites. The short ribs are incomparable, the caesar salad great and pork tacos - awesome. The wine list is modest yet above average. The service is wonderful, I am looking forward to trying the sangria! The menu changes enough to keep your interest piqued.Kudos to the owners - you are doing a fantastic job!!!!!M&M

Provided by SuperpagesAlthough lunches are above average at Reality Bites, the dinners can not be beat in town. The unique and flavorful standards and specials at this tapas type restaurant are top notch. The service is always excellent and the laid back owners are friendly and aim to please. Don't get them talking at the bar about their alma maters though, (Ohio State and ISU) or you will have a dizzying experience finding your car after the "fill it up again" rounds take their toll. I love the chefs' specialty, the short ribs ( I have always been a fan of short ribs and these are some of the best ever). The shrimp dish is also excellent and a little different. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It is a classy place served by young and friendly, classy people. Treat yourself and try Reality Bites over and over and over. Ask for Jess and tell her Peter sent you.

Provided by SuperpagesThe ambience is wonderful! The dark wood and low lights are inviting and relaxing. The dining is unique, sharing only a menu of appetizers with your friends. Sitting on the patio overlooking the historic downtown streets on a beautiful night is an enjoyable time to remember.
