Overall
Awful!!!

Do not take your dog to this groomer!!!!! Awful service! The owner and staff are rude and the prices are misquoted. I will never ever bring my dad back here. I rather pay more than come back here.

DO NOT GO HERE! ANNIE, the ow...

DO NOT GO HERE!

ANNIE, the owner, HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS & NO HONESTY! I am a first time dog-owner--other than growing up w/ my parents' German shepherd who's nvr been 2 groomer. I adopted my 12 year old chow chow mix, Mellow, from the shelter in September & referred 2 this place because they were cheap. (DON'T LET THE PRICE FOOL YOU). Mellow is very friendly & chill, who's had his teeth CLEANED W/OUT ANESTHETICS! Not at all aggressive like Annie told me chows were.

I've had TWO incidents:

2 weeks after I'd adopted Mellow, I realized he had ticks. After going to the vet, I brought Mellow here 4 a tick bath. Right after we got home I found 3 more ticks on Mellow—2 dead and 1 live. I called, told them the situation, and asked how long it takes 4 the tick bath to be effective. Annie called back 2 say it wasn’t their fault & that my house & car was tick-infested! I went to get second opinions from my vet, other groomers, and the internet. They all said that tick baths normally take up to 48 hours to work and that I’ll b seeing them drop off Mellow. I was disappointed in how Annie handled this situation. Instead of blaming the customer, just admit that ticks are difficult to deal with and that you've done your best to treat my dog.

I'd called earlier last week get a quote 2 get Mellow's legs evenly trimmed (bc I'd tried 2 shave Mellow's legs 2 reduce dirt trekking & it ended up looking patchy) & was given a quote for $25. When I called, I introduced myself & told them that my dog, Mellow, was a client, & then relayed why I was calling. I made an apt 4 Mellow here bc I'd been here & it was the same price as everywhere else. I took Mellow in for his appointment @ 12pm. They took Mellow to the back & I went over the service w/ the receptionist. I asked for a close-as-possible shave. The lady asked, "Like a poodle-shave?" I, not knowing the correct terms, said, "Sure, if that's what it's called. I just want a close even shave." Groomer called @ 3:05pm saying that they couldn't poodle-shave my dog's legs bc he was a chow mix. I said fine just shave as close & evenly as possible. Talked again @ 3:24: they said Annie can do the poodle-shave but they'd charge me an additional $30 + $45. I said, "Wait a minute. I was quoted $25", this lead 2 a huge argument w/ Annie screaming in the background "It's her fault...She should've told us what breed...She's been here before...We NEVER charge $25 for a feet trim" etc, while I spoke w/ the reception on the phone, & ended w/ me saying "Give me 10 minutes. I'll be right there." I'd arrived, expecting professionalism, instead Annie yelled at me saying I should've told the lady on the phone Mellow's breed, that I was intentionally deceptive, that if any groomers knew I have a chow they'd never quote $25, that NO GROOMER would trim a chow's feet. I explained that I didn't know that I was supposed 2 tell the breed, I didn't know it mattered, & I wasn't asked (it's her job to train her workers properly). Annie accused, "Why didn't YOU finish shaving ur dog. Did he try 2 bite you?" I WAS APPALLED! No, he didn't try 2 bite me. I just wasn't good at it! I'm not a profession pet groomer, like her. After 15 mins of arguing w/ her, I took my dog, paid $25 (FOR A BATH that I give every week at home) & left.

ANNIE WAS WRONG. Right after, I found a groomer who poodle-shaved Mellow's feet for $20! She—was nice & understanding—informed me that she has unsatisfied customers from Annie come 2 her for help and that she always hear horror stories from this business. Thank god, I'm not the 1st one. Back 2 Mellow, he was done UNDER 20 MINUTES!

Annie's behavior was unprofessional & unethical of a SMALL BUSINESS OWNER. She doesn't value her customers at all! I did not appreciate her actions & how she handled these situations.

First of all,we have been more than patient with Ms. Nguyen and her often strange requests in regards to her dog. On this occasion this customer admitted to calling around to five other shops only asking if feet could be shaved and never asking the shops or explaining that the dog was a chow, a dog classically known for not liking their feet touched or fussed with. If we had know that this was MARSH MELLOW Nguyen, we would have never booked a feet shaving but referred them to their vet for a anesthesia procedure to shave the feet. She said he had been there before and only gave the name of "mellow", not how he is recorded in our database. The two dogs we have under the name of "mellow" are poodles and would fall under the category of dog that could receive a foot shave. Most Chows become highly aggressive when their feet are touched requiring muzzling for nail trims. It would never be a advisable endeavor to consider shaving the feet of a chow unless for a medical necessity. When looking at the dog and seeing how hacked up the feet were, I relented to agreeing to try to fix the mess Ms. Nguyen created for her poor dog. But I informed her it would be a substantially higher cost because of the nature of most chows, and this would be a risky procedure. She then said she did not know chows were bad for their feet because she did not know much about the breed. Having dealt with Ms. Nguyen before in the last 12 weeks, I was dumbstruck to think someone would adopt a dog like a chow, known to be an aggressive guard dog breed, and then not to proceed to learn ANYTHING about what they have. This to be is an accident waiting to happen. She tried to "pull a fast one" and got caught now she is crying fowl. Secondly, the tick issue. If the vet gave it a dip and it has ticks again, go back and complain to the vet I have nothing to do with it. Often times people bring animals home from the shelter and they bring with them fleas and ticks. If they choose to not get immediate attention, the tick will feed, fall off and hide in carpet, bedding, anywhere that is dark and they can hide. Only to return when hungry. Subsequently, common sense would lend itself if you have an animal that has more than one tick, you most likely will have them in your home or car. Thus, re-infestation is likely. We advised Ms. Nguyen that she might want to wash the dogs bed and maybe let off a bug bomb while the dog was in our care. Bottom line, common sense is not so common. Learn about the breed of dog you own so you know the traits of the personality. Get proper attention for parasites and don't humiliate your chow by shaving it's feet.
