        Un-needed Repairs

        This Dealership service is friendly but very deceptive. I had them look at my air conditioner last summer since it had stop blowing cold air. They said the car needed a new compressor and it would be expensive. I couldn't afford it (and I was suspicious after awful dealings with Smith-Cairns Ford/Subaru service in Yonkers) so I went the rest of the summer without it. This June, I took my Outback to a Goodyear service center. They looked at it and said it still had some freon in it, but couldn't find a leak. No one had ever put freon with a tracer dye to find a leak if it exists. They fill it with freon with the dye and guess what? The compressor is working fine and I've had AC for two weeks now and no problems.

        I might have a slow leak somewhere (still can't find one yet), but that compressor is fine, it never needed a new one.
