Captain Ron's mobile scooter repair

This was the first time I used Angie's List, it was for scooter repair.
Captain Ron's Mobile Scooter & Small Engine Repair | 511 SW 27th Terrace Fort Lauderdale, FL. He came out to my scooter and said he charges 80.00 just to show up then he will access the damage and tell me what I need. My battery wasn't working so he replaced it. He said I need some other stuff and charged me 220.00. I rode it 2 times then it was harder and harder to start. The battery died shortly after and I called him to ask why this would happen after he just fixed it and he says hes not sure he has to come out and it will be 110.00 this time instead of 80.00. So he arrives and looks at it and in 5 min hes able to tell that the wire is shorted. The wire was already shorted prior to this day because thats why the first battery he replaced went out. But instead of telling me what the real problem was 220.00 dollars ago, he decided to let me use it until i would need him to do the the repair that should've been done in the very first place. I am very upset at this point and I explain to him at least he can return the brand new battery I paid him for and he says "no, it doesn't work like that" then he laughs and says "at least you have a new battery" then he proceeds to tell me I have a "cheap" scooter and this is whats expected. Also before he left he asked me for gas money for his trip. Unbelievable!

I didn't contact Angie's List to be lied to and insulted. I wanted to fix my scooter so I could save some money on gas, not only am I out 220.00 but a scooter as well.

Captain Ron overcharged me immensely.

A. $80.00 just to show up without doing any work.

1. Bought the wrong Stater for the bike.

2. Stater failed after 1 week.

3. Charged me $225.00

4. Had to buy another Stater and labor. Out another $180.00

5. Stripped spark plug while testing unit causing low compression and leak in the head. This was mentioned to him and he gave me an alternative which 5 mechanics said would never work. Looking at $225.00 for head replacement.

6. He recommended airbox removal which could have caused engine failure at another $80.00 charge from Ron. Bike did not run any better or go faster.

7. This all took place after pushing the Baccia 150 7 miles because it was going to take a tow truck 3.5 hours to respond.

Called the cap earlier about an issue with my scooter not running, told him I purchased a new carburetor and a few other parts as well. He diagnosed the problem and so happen to be my spark plug needed to be changed. He's great at what he knows and what he can do. And prices are very reasonable

My scooter has been down for a few months, was worried on how I was gonna get it fixed? There was no way i was gonna pay for a tow to shop., as LUCK has it, found Captain Ron in yellow pages... So i called and he came and fixed scooter within the hour!! People you gotta call and use him....Rates are fair, considering he comes right to your driveway, and fixes on spot!! He is now in cell phone. This guy is honest and fair and clean working in scooter area!! I will see him in sept!!

I got stuck in a really bad part of town and with just one phone call Captin Ron was there, he fixed my scooter and did an even better job than what most mechanics at a shop would do. He cleaned out the compartment where my belt had snapped in two and he replaced it. Cost for that situation wasnt even unreasonable. He is awsome and id recommend him to any motorcyclist/scooterlist out there. Im defnnitly going back to him for future repairs in the future.

Captain Ron has been more then professional and went above and beyond. He's towed a scooter for me that left me stranded on way to work and came out to fix another 150cc scooter with wiring and other issues. He knows a lot about what he's doing and he has saved me plenty of times and i'm very thankful for that. Will keep captain Ron on speed dial!

Captain Ron fixed my Chinese 150cc scoot today. He came to my house, saving me a tow, found out why it wouldn't start and fixed it under an hour, and did so in a way that checked the lowest cost possible repair first, then worked up, to try to save me some money. He also fixed a nagging idling issue that I didn't even mention without extra cost. And he explained as he went along, enabling me to do some simple jobs myself going forward. If you own a scooter, put his number on speed dial. You're going to need a repair someday, and on that day, you'll be glad you had it.

Captain Ron's scooter repair service made my scooter experience much easier after purchasing a scooter in California and having it shipped but after almost a month of phone tags and emails getting no where I gave in and Captain Ron came to my rescue, very professional and courteous , explained everything. I will continue to use his service and highly recommend anyone who needs a reliable repair person to do the same. Thank you so much!

I had the pleasure to meet captain ron today..from experience it is almost impossible to find an honest scooter repair guy and one that really knows what he is doing..he came same day, fixed my scooter w in 15 min. Gave me a break because I was a little short..completely professional, honest, and is the #1 mobile scooter guy!!! I highly recommend this man for any of your scooter needs thanku ron u are truely awsome!!!

Captain Rons scooter repair service is top notch. He scheduled me for work even though I live very far south in Miami Dade county. His prices were cheaper than ANYTHING I could find, and I really mean anything. Not only did he give me great prices and service, he even went out of his way to fix addition problems that were uncovered while doing he repairs. He was open to teaching me as much about my scooter as I was willing to learn. He was pesonable, informative, and a professional business man. Did I mention I have a Chinese tao tao 50cc that most places refused to even work on? Seriously, if you need service or repairs done, you would be stupid to go anywhere else. Convienent, fast, cheap, and most importantly he is a moral business man. Thanks Ron!!!

cap ron , im really thankfull to him, he solved a problem in literally 30 MIN , when i left my bike somewhere else for A WEEK and it was the same or even worse , he told me what he though it was over the phone and got there and booommm! its fixed! thats it! deffinetly worth it! THANKS CAP RON!

I had an amazing experience with captain Ron. My scooter has been having problems now for over two weeks. I called around to try and find someone who would repair it and two shops I called referred me to captain Ron and I am so happy they did. When I called him he gave me an idea of what he thought was wrong and sure enough he was right. Not only was he able to get out to my scooter quickly he was also able to repair it in less than an hour!!!! Plus he is very inexpensive. I would recommend him to anyone with a scooter. He's a fabulous and experienced mechanic who isn't going to burn through your wallet!!!

A great experience with Capt. Ron. He is quite skilled at diagnosing the problem with my power chair. This is the second time I have used his services and will call him if I have future problems! Thanks Capt Ron!!!

I live in South Miami. My bike died near the Falls shopping mall. I called Ron and within 4hours I was on the road and scootin' again for less than $200. He brought everything with him and made my bike go again. I'm so happy. I'm writing this after riding all day. Thanks Captain Ron! You are the newest member of our scooter club! Honorary!!! Man, what a guy. I was so pleased with this scooter lover! My bike is up and running, the cost was just a little more than taking it to the shop, but MAN was it worth it. Ron arrived on time, had everything he needed, did the job FAST and my bike is running great! I don't generally like turning my bike over to a shop for several days, and having Capt. Ron come to me made all the difference in the world. I know that for emergency service, this is my guy. I'm glad to do business with this company and this mechanic, and I know to call him again. I also feel comfortable recommending him to people I ride with.



On a side note, I asked him while he was changing both my tires what his favorite repair was and he said that his favorite challenge is getting to a bike that is completely dead, won't start, won't run and won't do anything. If you have a situation like this, and you want your bike to run, call him. He's your guy.

CAPT RON'S SERVICE WAS AFFORDABLE AND FAST I CALLED FOR SERVICE ON MY SCOOTER THAT WAS SITTN FOR SEVEN YEARS, HE HAD IT RUNNING IN LESS THEN 2 HOURS. I'D DIFFINETLY RECOMMEND HIS SERVICES AND I WILL CONTINUE USEING HIM FOR FUTURE REPAIRS OR MAITENANCE,THANK YOU VERRY MUCH CAPT RON!!

I found Captain Ron online and decided to give him a call after reading other reviews. He answered the call quickly and said he had an opening the same afternoon. He came to my house and fixed my Vespa GT200 in 75 minutes. No more than 4 hours after calling him, my Vespa was back in top shape. His rates are fair and the job gets done right at home. Hats off to Captain Ron!

I am one of those guys that have been going around from shop to shop only because there are bad people out there or I will say unexperienced individuals that just want to collect the money but at the same time they change parts for old ones and you end up with a fixed bike that will run you for 2 weeks then it will leave you dead in the street. I took it to midtown and they made it worst to the point that I didn't know what to do...I called CAPTAIN RON AND THEN THAT WAS IT!!!!!.

IT WAS AS IF THE DEVIL HAD TAKEN ME TO DIFFERENT PLACES TO JUST MESS MY DAY UP. AND THEN I GUESS GOD OR THAT FORZE OUT THERE HEARD ME SAID I'M TIRED AND FED UP WITH THE TRAP IN THIS CORRUPTED MIAMI...AND THEY SENT ME CAP' RON!!! BETTER ALWAYS TO CALL SOMEONE LEGITIMATE. My boyfriend and I bought a scooter off craigskist and when we arrived to collect the scooter it was all in good working order. after driving not even 2 miles it broke down. the guy we bought it from wasnt answering his phone. after finally getting this scooter home the next morning we found captain ron on yellowpages. he was with us in 5 minutes and spent the better part of the hot morning with dave his assistant making sure every part of our scooter was working. he fixed and replaced everything and it was running beautifully. we are so happy with the service we got from captain ron. so helpful and friendly. we definitely recommend captain ron for all your needs. great service great value for money. thanks captain ron!!
