This is one art gallery where everyone is made to feel welcome. The staff person on duty tells you about the show and usually has some interesting stories about their other artists. The gallery is the oldest one in Miami and dates back to 1974. Virginia Miller actually was a private dealer for a few years before that. Altogether, she figures she's curated and presented to the public more than 300 exhibitions. At one time, she had three locations in Greater Miami before buying this historic, 1925-era building. Playboys who attended the gala opening of the Biltmore Hotel that year bought their Stutz Bearcats from this location, which later became the ballet school of George Milenoff, a member of the royal Romanov family who fled the Russian revolution. I went to see her selection of Latin American art, and found out that Miller has pioneered in introducing historically significant artists and art movements to this region and to the U.S. Some are shown on the gallery web site, www.virginiamiller.com. The gallery exhibits Latin American, Chinese, and American art along with works by international masters. Miller also re-sells really important works, kept in a vault outside the gallery, and commissions outdoor sculpture, such as a 60-foot tall work at Omaha, Nebraska's airport. The best part is that just about everything you see here is unique and reflects the taste and enthusiasm of Virginia Miller, who personally selects all the art exhibited and stocked in their various storage areas. Lear's magazine called her "the undisputed doyenne of South Florida art dealers." Miller started Coral Gables Gallery Night in 1980. Thought to be the first event of its kind in this area, it still takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. Sometimes there are concerts and lectures, too. This is a great gallery for anyone who really enjoys contemporary art!

Over the past 10 years we have acquired many works of art from Anwar and his professional team at Art Express, as well as, had several paintings and photos framed. During this 10 year period we have been to their retail store in Kendall (SW Miami, Florida) more than a dozen times and every visit has been a rewarding learning experience. Even though there are dozens of framing and art retailers closer to our home than Art Express, we are happy to travel the 20+ miles to Art Express since we know we are going to be treated right and find what we are looking for. Art Express owner Anwar, as well as, his very knowledgeable and talented team of designers and sales personnel have always been extremely helpful, creative and very patience in explaining our options and giving us ideas and recommendations for our home. We truly enjoy every visit with Anwar and his team and can highly recommend them as honest, creative and pleasant people to work with; no high pressure sales. If we are looking for works of art, large decorative mirrors, or just looking to frame a favorite family photo or painting, Art Express is definitely where we go. Thanks in large part to Art Express, our home is very well accented with excellent works of art and strategically placed mirrors, so that everyone that comes to our home is "wowed" by the arrangements. I use the medium of photography to make my work and I usually print in large format, approximately 40&amp;quot; x 60&amp;quot;. The work is delicate, printed on clear film. I trust no other than Jasen Watson from Art Express!! He has been my one and only framer for YEARS. I often insist that I make the work and he makes the presentation look amazing! He goes out of his way to make an art out of framing!! Furthermore, I usually work up until the very last second and then frantically run into the framing shop worried about getting the work framed in time for a show! Art Express promises very fast turnaround time. They will come through for you somehow, with a variety of materials in stock to choose from! Now for special ordered materials, one should plan ahead! But either way, they will work with you to meet your deadlines, or take special care of your valuable, precious images, sentimental or otherwise, in any format. - My professor used to say, don't miss the work by staring at the frame, and Jack Johnson sings you can't see the trees for the glass windows, but a window is your portal to the outdoors, and a frame does house and protect and display! Who will you trust with your framing? - Lamia Khorshi
