Express Hardwood Floors specializes in many kinds of flooring. We do hardwood flooring in all different varieties, including Brazilian Cherry Hardwood, Pine, Maple, Red Oak, White Oak, Birch, Beech, Cork and Bamboo flooring. We do refinishing as well as installation. We also are specialists in installing and refurbishing all varieties of Tile flooring. Ceramic, marble, granite, soapstone, porcelain, lime rock, slate, brick and terracotta are all expertly installed by our master crafts men. We serve the Greater New Jersey area. Satisfaction is our job! Sand & Refinish It is recommended that you refinish your floor every 5 to 7 years depending on the condition of your wood. Sanding is the process of removing minor scratches and old residues to reveal another new layer of the hardwood. Refinishing is a process of sealing and coating the newly sanded floor. You have a choice between a satin, semi-gloss or glossy finish for your new floor. A sand and refinish can take about 2 days. Buff & Recoat Sometimes your old wood can't be sanded too many times because of its limited thickness; a buff or light sand is preferred. However, a buff will not be able to take away scratches as well as a sanding. After the floor is buffed, 1 coat of finish will be put down. This process only takes 1 day. Installation An installation of hardwood floor will take from 2 to 3 days depending on the scope of the job. Usually, it takes about 1 day to put the wood down and more days to sand.
