Michaels - The Arts & Crafts Store

I am the person that this store refused based on I was paying with a check and my drivers license was expired by 1 month which was a total oversight on my part. I am the person that needed to spend 2 hours in your store at night because I have been caring for my elderly dad who is suffering with Alzheimers in the day and does not even have a break to go to renew my license. I am the person that the cashier could care less that I had many other forms of photo id's and the Manager who stared at me blankly and would not help at all. I work in retail and I know that sometimes rules can be bent for a good customer. I am the person who needed supplies for a last minute teaching job that I needed to do for some children for Halloween the very next day and left your store in tears because it was now 9:00 and there would be no other store open for me. The manager offered to hold the goods for me but I explained that I had the class the very next day and needed to work all night to prepare. (These are things we that are caring for children and aging parents have to do). So as the Manager and the associate stared at me uncaringly and blankly and never apologized, just said "it's corporate rules", and then to add insult to injury said very sarcastically and all of a sudden, "Have a good Night!", I broke down in tears in my car. I sit here wondering what I should do without my supplies that I was so thrilled to find. I wonder if these two women have ever forgotten to do something in their lives. They are women who lost a $150.00 sale because they just couldn't try to be understanding or compassionate. I am a very great customer and LOVE shopping at Michael's. I was so excited to to to this store on Rand Road. They felt so superior to me, the lowlife who dared not to have a credit card and just a perfectly good check and a 1 month expired drivers license. I could have provided any other form of ID along with photos. In a bad economy, I would suggest these ladies appreciate good business when they see it. I am so upset and they were so cold and awful. I feel so wronged by this store...
