Worldclass Child Care

I have to start by saying I loved this center for the first two years my child attended. We knew the kids were learning and my child enjoyed being there. The staff was like a big family and were very good with the children and parents. We knew everyone and they all knew us.
Last summer (2010) things started to get really bad. Our child was set to start Pre-K. The center was not approved for state funded Pre-K. The owner(s) waited until the last minute to advise parents. Many parents had a very hard time finding slots elsewhere. We chose to keep our child in familiar surroundings and paid for private Pre-K at the center. Then sometime early this year the owners changed. Since then the staff turnover is unlike anything I have ever seen. With each week people are leaving and new people are watching your kids. There is a constant influx of new caregivers who do not have the same dedication. The new non certified staffers must be cheaper than the real teachers and certified caregivers that were there before. Unfortunately the family atmosphere no longer exist. They cut the breakfast hours back so they don't have to feed the children that usually come in later (between 8 & 9am).
This place is no longer a learning center, it's more like a bunch of babysitters. They don't report incidents or have any interest in interacting with the children. They usually sit on the sidelines while the children play amongst themselves. For what they are charging there should be more structured activity. On several occasions I have requested a meeting with the owners over unreported incidents and have not received so much as a return phone call. We are taking our child out and will look for better care elsewhere.
I would advise parents who want QUALITY childcare to pass on Bright Star. This is not a learning environment and the owners got rid of the people who made it a second home for the kids. It's a business that is being run poorly and without direction and you never know who is there when you show up to drop your child off. Either they won't pay for good help or don't care. There is a lot more that I could add to my review but won't. Hopefully whoever reads this takes heed and will avoid the frustration and confusion that is commonplace at this center. Anyone who drives past this place regularly will notice how empty the parking lot is these days. Pick up and drop off time used to bustle, now it's a trickle of parents and kids.

OMG!!!!! the only way they have a star period is b/c I need to say how awful of an exp this daycare has been!!! My son left in soiled pull-up all day!!!! came home with black eye and no one had a clue, director is all about money, when you pay in advance she still wants to charge you until she can ck she books, and may call and apologize later... this happened several times to me in front of other parents and staff! My son (11mo) meal plan has not been followed an when I pick him up from this school he is starving!!! and he has also suffered having soiled diapers at this daycare!!! I spoke to director and she was not interested and upholds staff with no accountability. Very argumentative and uses the N word to describe the foster children with awful behavior, by the way the school is filled with foster children who bully, fight and speak negative to the other children. Ms Beasley has several childcare facilities and foster care facilities so I thought she was perfect fit!!!! BUT NO she IS over the TOP RUDE AND Unconcerned!!!!!!! RUN and find another child care where your child will feel loved!!! and you have a peace of mind

Great daycare!!! Very organized and professional. I love this owner! She personally prepairs and cooks the meals for her children. When I drop my children off I have no doubt that they are going to be well taken care of. It's always clean. It doesn't have that funky diaper smell that most daycares have. My kids never stink when they come home. Love love love this place. It's literally a second home for my kids!
