Atlantic Warriors Wing Chun Kung Fu

I came to Atlantic Warriors just over 2 years ago. I have a background in other martial arts, but wanted to pursue a Chinese style that made sense (some styles require acrobatics that a man of 40 plus years should avoid). Wing Chun was exactly what I had been looking for, and I wish that I had found it 20 years ago. Wing Chun, as taught by Sifu Petree, is the most efficient and practical martial art that I have ever seen. It has an answer for every self defense situation that I can think of, and it's always an answer that I would feel confident using. Wing Chun is a system that trains you to respond to movement and energy, not to use boxed techniques on a certain type of attack. This is why it is so effective against other TECHNIQUE based arts, because it shuts down the movements within the technique. I feel that in addition to finding the best art, I have also found the best instructor. Sifu Petree has a way of teaching every student in the way that each student learns. In just over 2 years, he has trained me to do things that I never thought I could do, because the training focuses on not only self defense, but also on unparalleled conditioning of the mind and body. Sifu Petree offers private lessons as well as public classes, and everyone is treated with kindness and respect. So if you feel unsatisfied or unsure of your current art, or if you are looking for your first, Atlantic Warriors is definitely worth checking out.

I was searching for (for years) a reliable, genuine organization to take self-defense classes where the 'ranks' are earned and each training session was an opportunity to progress. I have found my home at Atlantic Warriors. Sifu ('master') Petree is a man of great character and the students in his classes are screened by him PERSONALLY to ensure the highest quality and most trustworthy students only attend his classes. The classes not only teach you how to defend yourself but also make you become a better person all around. Note: Those with other martial arts backgrounds are welcomed.



I recently completed the second part of the Women's Only Self- Defense Course and learned more than I thought I would. I have 10 years in the military and about a year of Wing Chun Kung Fu but there is ALWAYS something to learn from his courses. I feel more confident about being able to defend myself as a female and more importantly, how to stay out of the shady situations.

I am a firefighter paramedic that has been training with Sifu Jonathan Petree for only a month now and am reaping the benefits of Wing Chun training. I no longer have lower back pain, my shoulders and neck are not stiff anymore, and I am more positive, focused and relaxed than I have ever been! I feel great, to say the least! Being in a hight stress profesion can be hard on the body and mind in alot of ways and Wing Chun has helped me de-stress more than any other form of exercise! I would recommend Wing Chun to anyone looking to better their physical and mental well being. Sifu Petree also puts his heart and soul into training his students and has a great passion for bettering his students lives. If you are interested in de-stressing and learning self defense that really works I hightly reccomend coming to a class and giving Wing Chun a try! It truly is an awesome way of life and I'm just getting started!
