Just another Dentist who cares about nothing but money. They wait until after they poke and prod in your mouth, thereby causing you MORE pain, to tell you that your insurance won't cover any work. How can it cover you causing me pain, but NOT DOING ANYTHING to alleviate it? You need to tell people over the phone that you actually won't do any work before you EVER put your hands inside someone's mouth. You save people alot of time and gas by turning them down over the phone rather than causing them to waste gas and time, and get more pain by coming to your office.

great people who really care

I guess there must have been some changes in management and doctors since the other reviews. My experience was nothing but good. They were very good about explaining all my needs and adressing all of my concerns.

Okay, I really wanted to rate ...

Okay, I really wanted to rate this place 0 stars, but it won't let me.

Do yourself a favor and NEVER walk into their office. We paid for an insurance plan that would cover our exams and x-rays. A cleaning would be $25 with a $5 charge for the office visit. I thought $30 isn't bad and while we are going through this awful economy, we'll try it. The office staff was nice from start to finish. That's not the problem. The issue is that they are after your money, BIG TIME.

The dentist went over the x-rays with me and zoomed and brightened the screen multiple times to show me a itty bitty shadow next to my bridge. He said the bridge needed to be redone at a cost of $1,400 under my plan. I told him I wasn't concerned about it that much because my previous dentist (very reputable) did that bridge only a few years ago. Then they try to sell me on a $331 cleaning because my gums are in such bad shape. Give me a break! I have never needed that before and I am just a couple of months over the typical 6 months for a cleaning.

Please save yourself some regret and avoid this place at all cost.

Horrible from start to finish!...

Horrible from start to finish!

Rude staff: the front desk woman is seriously the rudest person I have ever seen at a office. I was happy and polite, she was short and almost sarcastic. Not even a hint of a smile. She made me feel like saying, "sorry I offended you for being alive!" I remember thinking she must really hate her job. So I was a little confused right off the bat when I signed in. The front desk is the first representation of a business... Everyone else was not much nicer.

Late: I had an 8:00am appointment. This time was perfect for me because I am an RN and work night shift and had gotten off that morning at 7am after a 12 hour shift. My plan was to get my appt over with so then I could go to bed by 10am. Well I waited until almost 9am before I was even called back. I kept asking the rude receptionist what was going on, how could I be late if I am the first appt of the day? She told me everyone was in a staff meeting. Ok I get it that they may not want staff on overtime pay to stay late for a meeting, so if youre going to have it during operational business hours then why schedule patients?? There were other people in the waiting room that were scheduled after me that were upset as well. One woman even left. We all thought it was very inconciderate. This had to have thrown their whole schedule off if the first patient started an hour late! Also, when I finally got back I had to wait longer for various people.

Money: I felt the entire time that they were trying to upsale me on so much stuff. They tried to tell me I needed $50 mouth rinse. I told them I could not afford that right now and then I felt negativity from the staff, like I was poor or didnt care about my health. I really felt pressure into buying a night guard- they told me I grind my teeth at night. This is something I have never heard before or have had problems with. But they kept saying that I would feel so much better, that I was just used to doing it... So I said ok and they told me it would be $300+ AFTER INSURANCE and I told them again this was not something that was in my budget right now since Christmas was coming up. I again felt pressured in to making another appointment for after the holidays when I could aford it. Bad decision. I should have just told them- ALL I WANT IS A CLEANING STOP TRYING TO SELL ME STUFF!

And the worst part: So I went back in January, got the dang night guard that I only wore for maybe a month and now am convinced never needed it.. paid the $300+ bill IN FULL BEFORE WALKING OUT THE DOOR. And now, NINE months later I get a letter from a collections agency saying that my credit will be effected if I do not pay this bill. Never heard one thing from Coast Dental since I walked out the door in Janurary. I then had to fax the collections agency a copy of my bank record from January to show proof that this bill was paid and thank God my credit was not harmed. But it easily could have been due to Coast Dental's error and wanting even more money out of me after my treatment and payment had been complete.

My husband called them to let them know what had happened and to find out why. Of course they never called back to clear anything up.

Thanks for nothing but a rude headache Coast Dental!

Shame on you Coastal Dental! You don't even deserve 1 Star!

I took my son to Coastal Dental located in Fleming Island for a cleaning. The appointment was scheduled for 11:30. We waited and waited and at 12:30 we had yet to be seen. The receptionist reassured us that we would been seen in 10 minutes. Ten minutes then twenty minutes went by. We sat in the lobby until 12:50. By that point it was evident that they were not interested in my business. I decided to leave and I am glad that we did because when I called later on to voice my disappointment in their lack of credibility/reliability I learned that the dentists/hygienist take lunch from 1 to 2. They had no intention of seeing us in "ten minutes" as the receptionist claimed.

Horrible

Dr. Jennifer Woods is the worst dentist I have ever seen. She is a liar and does not do what she says she will. Plus you have to wait forever in the lobby before you're ever seen. Don't waste your time here.
