Franklin County Auto Title, located in Columbus, Ohio, is a division of the County s office of the Clerk of Courts. The division is responsible for the issuance of original certificates of title, duplicate titles and title transfers for automobiles, boats and trailers. It has a staff of more than 240 trained deputy clerks who are responsible for the collection of fees for the issuance of certificates of title that serve as the state s official proof of ownership. Franklin County Auto Title division processes more than 675,000 titles annually and operates four branch offices and two service centers. Additionally, the division provides online information about various forms and applications to be filled in order to acquire ownership for automobiles and watercrafts.
