I scheduled an appointment for a color and was denied service because I wanted highlights and they “didn’t have time for that”. NEVER have I ever encountered such a thing before! So rude! Normally the stylist asks what you would like done and you go from there.

Love this Salon!!! They did a great job on my hair. Plus they are open on Sundays. I will definatley be coming back.
My appointment was in the salon, and I can tell you that the staff are not experienced at all. The stylist literally "chopped" my hair. My layers, instead of flowing naturally came out butchered and uneven. I felt violated. The girl who rinsed my hair after treatment didn't rinse well enough, so I left with my scalp oily. Then the stylist had the audacity to tell me my hair was too hard to manage! My other stylist has never had a problem with my hair, but then again he's WAY more experienced than the bag of fresh meat at this butcher shop. She should have said that from the beginning to spare me such a horrendous hair cut! I will NEVER return to Tu Moda after this, and I will be telling EVERYONE I know about what a mediocre salon this is.
After 10 years of being a customer here I've had to cut ties. The front desk didn't properly reschedule my appointment and I was blamed for it. They're now wanting my credit card information prior to even getting an appointment with them. I've over looked issues in the past because I like the beautician. One 2 occasions I spent quite a bit of money to dye my hair a specific color and came out with NOTHING I asked for. I wanted a purple color and got cherry red. I asked for some bayalge red and got highlights. The 2nd time I spent 300 with tips because I had to go 3 times to correct it and spend 3 hours each time to only end up with highlights! And no, they didn't do bayalage and they used foils. As it is, I was going to another salon to dye my hair. The 2nd salon, mind you gave me exactly what I wanted in 2 hours and 1 appointment. Before writing this review, I did attempt to rectify it with tu Moda. I called and they advised they'd have a manager or someone call me back but I waited the entire day and no calls. I am really disappointed.
Horrible experience with the hair salon portion of the business.I was a customer for over a year and was treated completely unprofessionally so finally I was forced to go somewhere else. They have been unable to find me in the system when I have called in and have messed up times of appointments in the past. The "owner" actually told the front office not to take my appointment unless they charged the full amount on my credit card because they messed up scheduling and said I didn't show up to an appointment when I never confirmed that I could get the time off work. One of the receptionist got in trouble because she booked me with another stylist when TuModa cancelled my appointment without letting me know. This is not a place for people who have jobs, tight schedules and who need a salon that is reliable.Their "consultation" that they require for a hair service is a joke and a waste of time. I have been fortunate to have been to many nice salons around the world when traveling so I was originally excited and thought it was a treat to have a stylist go over my hair and make recommendations. However,when I got there the stylist looked at my hair for one second and was like "soo what color do you want?" The whole consultation was over in literally 5 minutes..... if that. The worst part is that if you want something else done to your hair... you have to do the whole thing again?! Who has time for that in this day and age?Trust me ladies, your money is well spent somewhere else.

Salon Nina Rafaella has been observed by undercover critics traveling to well known salons throughout Boston. An extended travel to this particular area was an outstretch. A disgrace, staff reported.Due to the respect of small businesses, we strive to acknowledge the well respected work that have successfully been compelled as beauty entrepreneurs. Gems in a small city shall be honored, and gracefully so. Unfortunately, we can not let the reviews from staff be unsaid on this one.
I will only speak to the coloring services by Amy. Horrible. I only only just recovering now after 15 months from a total hack job. She totally scorched my hair. Stay away from this "stylist".
Cut: Spectacular. Time after time. there is no doubt. when it comes to her skills, expertise, talent, Nina is absolutely a top stylist who could practice her craft anywhere with success.Color: ditto. even better than above.Customer Service: Abysmal. Arrogance is through the roof. Be forewarned, if an emergency or an unexpected event requires you to cancel at the last minute you will be treated rudely and told that in the future you must give your credit card in advance to secure appointments and will be charged for any cancelations.I had a Force Majeure event occur - I drive two hours to go to that place for my hair and I called as soon as I learned that I wouldn't be able to get there. The woman I spoke with made me feel horrible. No matter how gorgeous my hair has been at the hands of Nina, I can never again feel comfortable in that place and allowing her to touch a hair on my head.I was treated coldly, rudely and as though I was somehow purposely disrespecting Nina's valuable time. I was told that in the future, if I should choose to book an appointment, if they could fit me in, that I would have to give my credit card number up front to them and be advised that if I were to miss the appointment for any reason my card would be charged the full amount for the appointment. i'm a corporate attorney. I know a little bit about being professional and customer service and how to treat people. I know about things that happen beyond our control. I also understand being great at what one does.. and having the temerity of character to understand that it doesn't give one the right to humiliate others. Even if there is a long list of clients clamoring for one's attention. You just never know what the future will bring and who will be there. It's a small world Nina. I wish you well. My hair will miss you -- but nobody should ever treat a loyal customer the way you treated me.
terrible place rude and obnoxious people work there very snobby and my hair was uneven and color was not right faded in one washing never go again and VERY EXPENSIVE WAY MORE THAN ALL HAIR SALONS I HAVE VISITED SINCE AND NOT WORTH IT EITHER
