Mary Dennings Cake Shoppe Inc

Do not waste your time for a speciality cake here. Mary Denning's has been sold to someone esle. The only thing the same is the name. I had done business with Mary Denning's for years and she had beautiful cakes well worth the price. I went in and told the new owner what I wanted. He opened a cake book and showed me a picture of a beautiful cake Princess cake, it was just what I wanted. I ordered that cake. It had a castle (light gray), it had grass infront of the castle, it had water for Ariel, figurines and pink flowers. So I didn't mind paying $100 for this cake. When I went to pick up the cake 15 minutes before the party, I almost passed out. The cake was sloppy, not the right color, and looked like it had been done by an amateur. The flowers were very basic and a light burgundy, instead of pink I was so upset I couldn't talk to him and there was no time for him to do anything about the cake. I will never go back to that shoppe for a specialty cake. I will go to Sam's Club, at least their cakes there do not look thrown together or sloppy. The green grass had slopped over the edge of the cake, and the same with the blue for water and they put the scalloped edges on over it and it the colors were coming out under the edges, and there was some on the side of the cake. The castle was a very dark gray, it was more of a haunted castle then a Princess castle. It was just horrible. What a waste of $100. When we were ordering the cake , he was telling us about another customer that was just in complaining about a cake, he picked up a cake book and showed us "his" cakes.. I now realize that had to be Mary Denning's cake book... RED FLAG!!! My cake looked nothing like the picture.. it was very sloppily done. Don't waste you money, go to Sam's. I woudl give a no star rating however to save this I have to give a one!
