4 of us went,, the steak was small and flat (mignin) and very overcooked ,,, the bread was hard and when we asked for butter waiter said it drenched in butter well they were very dry ,, we had reservations but they sat us in tight crowded bar area not a table ,,,we ordered aujus sauce and were told after meal arrived they didn't have any so they served us bouliion n water and it was cold ,, the manager came over and did nothing ,, very disappointing wont be going back there ,,, wish we had gone to outback would have been better and less than $250 for a bad meal... was the worst ever !!! save ur money

We visited Flemings in Tampa for my birthday. Had a gift card and thought why not enjoy an evening of wining and dining. We also took advantage of an online special that included a three course meal. My husband and I had a scallop appetizer, filet mignon and lobster for dinner with Salad and a side of lobster mac and cheese. Dinner was absolutely amazing. We really enjoyed our server who was so very attentive. Because it was my birthday, we enjoyed a carrot cake for dessert and the chef sent us home with a box of handmade truffles. I would return again when visiting Tampa.
I was in Tampa for Thanksgiving it was also the weekend of my birthday on black Friday. One of my girlfriend's who was a locale of Tampa suggested this place. It was just immaculate. There ambiance is very relaxing and gives you this 1940's jazz club vibe. The band has a very sophisticated look and their glossy piano is very striking to look at. The service was absolutely amazing. I felt like a queen. They gave me the perfect seating for my birthday it was cirular round booth table. The food was even better. They have great jazz music playing to set the mood. If you are lucky they will play a top 40 song and do their little jazz rendition of it. I couldn't have asked for a better 30th birthday dinner experience. The prices were very reasonable $$. The Chicken Parmesan entree is was outstanding, and I loooooove me some chicken Parmesan!!!! If you are thinking of visiting this place. I definitely recommend it.

This used to be our favorite restaurant and it was extremely well-run by the Laxer family. Sadly, the parents passed away, who were really foodies, and they passed it on to their son David, who apparently doesn't have as much interest in food or running a restaurant for that matter. We came and ordered steaks, and it came with complimentary salad and soup. The salad and soup were okay but nothing to write home about. However, I must give Bern's props for at least serving those things free while other "fine" steakhouses do not. But don't be fooled by all the nonsense about the food coming from their organic garden. The vast majority of it comes from wholesalers just like any other restaurant and it is reflected in the taste. There is no way they could provide that quantity of food from a little garden. The steak itself was lousy and frankly I could get a better cut from a place for less than half the price. It was very chewy and tough and frankly nowhere on par with actual fine steakhouses like Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Capital Grille, etc. The tour of the kitchen and wine cellar are a nice touch and the white-glove service is nice, but this restaurant is no longer in the same league as the fine restaurants mentioned above. It is simply living off its reputation from the past, and I could hardly see myself dropping $200 to $300 to have steak that's worse than a hibachi restaurant. Not to mention everything takes so darn long: it's about two hours to have your meal and then you go upstairs to the Harry Waugh room which looks like a scene out of a sci-fi movie and have another bill and another wait simply to get desert. And of course you will get socked with another $5 valet charge simply to park your car in Bern's own parking lot. No thanks, I will no longer be burned at Bern's ever again!
This has been in Tampa for years! I've never been! It's really run down and old decor. Nearly left but had friends meeting us there. I'm not a big steak person!! The food was awesome!!! The service was ok but understandable since they were busy!! I was pleasantly surprised!!!
I eat out every Tuesday night at a local steak house. It's part of my ritual. Even though Flemings is rather pricey, I made it my top destination. On September 30th 2013, I valet parked with their valet service while patronizing their steakhouse. Many items in my car were moved when the car was returned to me. The next thing i know i have checks being forged out of my bank account. The checks must have been stolen by the valet. What a nightmare. I have never had this ever happen to me before. The Flemings' General manager cliamed it was not their employees but a valet company called 717 Parking Enterprise. I got the run around. I'm not looking for a free meal. I just want bonded valets that I can trust. Don't valet park at Flemings or better yet just go to Charlie's and never valet park.
Ruth's Chris Steakhouse always provides exceptional food and service. No unexpected surprises here. Jim Martin, the General Manager and his staff provide a dining experience you will always remember. Tell them Danny sent you!
