Awesome! Is the first word that comes to mind when describing Shield Real Estate Inspections. We were purchasing a new home and a friend referred Sean Kelly to perform the home inspection. We were thoroughly impressed!
He conducted a lengthy and detailed property inspection and provided us with a comprehensive home inspection report that included pictures, graphics, and improvement suggestions. To top it off he provided us with a hard copy binder and CD. We can’t wait to refer Sean Kelly to our friends who are thinking about purchasing a new home.

Sean is really on his A-Game with home inspection. He was very professional and impeccable in home construction knowledge. Walked my father through the whole inspection report. He also made sure he was available for my question being that I don’t live in the area. Sean was accommodating to my schedules and got the job done quickly and following up to make sure we did not have any unanswered questions. His reports were very easy to read, and very detailed. I would recommend Sean Kelly to anyone who buying a home.

Sean did a very thorough review that the builder agreed with all the issues he specified. Sean documented all the issues, provided pictures and discussed the entire report with me. I felt very comfortable discussing with the builder representative. Sean saved me countless dollars on future repairs.

When Sean Kelly inspected my daughter’s home last year I was amazed at the time he took to examine every aspect of the house, and document and add photographs for every detail. He explained what was good about the house, what was bad or not up to code, and explained what her options were to correct any problems. Even the realtor commented that he caught things she’d never seen caught before. I just assumed that he treated my 22 year old daughter the way he would want someone to treat one of his kids buying their first home. But that’s just the kind of detail that Sean goes through for everyone. This year when I finally found the house I wanted, I knew that I might be blinded by its historic charm and needed the unbiased expert eye of a really good home inspector, and Sean didn’t let me down. I hear there are less expensive inspectors, but I think Sean is grossly underpaid. He spent many hours in an old two-story home with no air conditioning and didn’t leave until he thoroughly explained all of his notes. I got the inspection by email after midnight and had a professional binder copy delivered the day after. Sean really loves what he does and it shows in the quality of his work.

I contacted Shield Real Estate Inspections to inspect and evaluate the home my wife and I purchased a year ago. Shield was recomended by one of our neighbor.



I left a voice message and Sean called back within minutes and explained how the process work and set up the inspection date and time. He then sent me an email with more detailed explanations. I was able to get answers to all the questions I had.



We had the inspection on a Sunday morning and he spent over 3 hours inspecting the home. All through the inspection he was able to answered any question my wife and I had. After completing the inspection, he went over his report, page by page and explained all the issues he found. His explanation was very easy to understand. He took pictures documenting his findings. The pictures were very helpful and made it easy to explain the problems found because it was easier to visually confirm the issue than explaining it. He is very knowlegeable about construction, electricity, heating and plumbing issues.



We received an email copy of the report that same evening and a hard copy a few hours later. This turnaround was excellent! The report is well detailed, and includes photos illustrating issues/defects he found.



Shield Real Estate Inspections did a magnificent job. Their prices are reasonable. In all, it is money worth spent. Excellent job.

We contacted Shield Real Estate Inspections to inspect and evaluate the condition of a investment property/rental home we were purchasing. I called on a Saturday, left a voicemail expecting a return call Monday.



Sean, the owner, called back within minutes. He explained the entire process over the phone and set up the inspection within 24 hours. He even contacted the Seller's agent for us, saving us the hassle. Very cool.



The next day, he spent around 3 hours inspecting the home. When he was finished, he called us, and we met him there. He went over his report, page by page. He explained all the issues in layman's terms. He had taken a ton of pictures documenting his observations. This was quite helpful. Obviously, it is extremely difficult to understand a problem without seeing it. It was nice not to have to visually confirm everything for ourselves -- the last thing I want to do is go into a stranger's attic to look at insulation, or stand in a hot garage looking at a water heater pan.



He patiently answered all of our questions without making us feel stupid or talking over my head like so many inspectors do. He even answered a few questions that had nothing to do with the house he was inspecting. (TBH we couldn't help ourselves. He is so informed, a virtual encyclopedia for construction, electrical, and plumbing issues -- It was hard not to pick his brain! )



We received a copy of the report via email that evening. Great turnaround! The report is extremely detailed, and like I said above, includes pictures which really illustrate issues/defects well.



Bottom line is that Shield Real Estate Inspections did a great job. We definitely got our money's worth. Sean's report was so detailed and persuasive, we used it to get a better deal on the home.



I have had other inspectors, just blow through the home, catch a few things, charge a cheap price, and then a month after the sale is final, the water heater goes out, the window latches are broken, or I find rotting wood near the roof, etc --- all things an inspector should have noticed and told us about!. I have learned the hard way -- it is simply false economy to select an inspector based on the cheapest price.



But this time, because I used Shield, I know there will be NO such surprises. And, Shield's prices are reasonable. Can't beat that! I would never use anyone else. A+++

Sean inspected our new construction home and did a great job. He was very thorough and spent plenty of time pointing out everything he found and explaining it all. The binder was worth the money and came quickly after the inspection was complete. Sean was very nice and even offered to help with any home questions we might have in the future. I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for a thorough home inspection.

I think we all worry about that newly built home when the end of year warranty is about to run out. I did and called Sean Kelly to come and inspect my home to ensure I had things covered. He did an amazing job, he was informative and thorough. I learned a lot about many things with my home that otherwise may have been overlooked and left uncorrected costing me money later. The time and labor Sean placed into the isnpection should he really wanted to do the best job. The detailed report was an plus and helped me show the contractors just what the problems where. I feel I got so much more that just an inspection, I also received an education on my home. This will help me later in dealling with my home. I am glad I chose Sean Kelly, I would recommend him to anyone I know.

Sean Kelly is a very knowledgeable man. He knows what he is doing and is very thorough when explaining every detail about the home. We contacted Sean in the evening to see if the inspection could be done the next day and he made it possible, we met him to discuss the findings and we didn't feel rushed. The most thorough inspection I could imagine. Every question was answered with precise detail, or legitimate reason why one could not be. Sean was patient, knowledgeable, and very technically competent at his work. This is my first time buying a home, and all stress was relieved when I had not only an excellent review on the home, but also ways to fix the minor details, and even improve it!



I was provided with a DETAILED inspection report in a nice binder, along with contact info for things I could ask about ever in the future. He completely took the mystery out of keeping up a home, and gave me full confidence in my buying decision.
