We were stuck at a track meet with our athlete and other son. Another parent recommended that we call Arcola Auto Tech because he was personally familiar with their service and recommended them. We called and spoke with Mike who gave us the best option on how to have the vehicle towed and how to be reimbursed through Insurance. Mike was a pleasure to work with, our vehicle was towed, and our unfortunate evening was less stressful due to his actions.

July 5th, 2012 I took my car to Arcola Auto Tech and spoke to the owner Paul Harshbarger about repairs that I was told needed to be made involving leaks under my hood. he told me that he ran some tests and my head gaskets were leaking and this was the reason and result of my car overheating. He informed me that I would be charged 1000 dollars for the repair and that I would have to put down 200-300 dollars for the shop to start the repair. I put down 250 dollars and I was told that the car would be ready within the next week. I contacted The repair shop on July 10, 2012 to see if the repairs were almost finished, I was told that they just had to place the engine back into the car and the would be finished within the next day or so. on July 12th I contacted the shop again and I was told that the shop received the wrong part for the car in the mail and it wold take an additional 4 days to finish. On July 16th, I had to contact the business to find out if my car was ready and I was told that it was. upon picking my car up, I paid 750 dollars and was given my keys and receipt. when I got into my car and started it the engine temperature was at the same high point that it was before I left the car and my HUD (heads up Display) in my car informed me of an Engine replacement problem, and would continue to display this every time I started my car. The owner informed me that nothing was wrong with my car and that it would take time for my car to adjust to the engine repairs and the warnings would go away. I drove home and the next day my car proceeded to overheat, I took it to the local GMC dealer and although they could not fit me in for a service repair that day, they did look at my engine temperature gage and they did let me know that it should not reach levels that high. my father called the repair shop and they informed me that I should bring the car back and they would provided me with a rental on July 17 2012. I took my car back and when I got there I informed them that I did notice that there was no antifreeze/coolant in the car, I was charged 29. 94 for antifreeze that was not placed in the car. I returned to pick up my car on July 19th 2012, and the owner informed me that I may need a new temperature gage for the car and that's why the engine looks as if it is over heating when its not. I went out of town on July 22-30 and did not use the car so I really did not get a chance to check and see if the car was acting up anymore after getting it back on the 19th. on August 8th, 2012 I drove to Champaign Ill,which was the longest I drove my car since the fix, and while driving, my car did not overheat but it kept getting high on the temperature gage; a problem which Paul Harshbarger informed me not to worry about after his shop made the repairs. while driving I started to smell rubber and noticed smoke under the hood and pulled into the local car repair shop with was Car-x. a hose had burst and the shop informed me that after the hose had been repaired the car was overheating so bad that I couldn't drive it home. the next day on August 9th, Car-x called and theyinformed me that my cooling fans were not coming on and that my T stat was stuck shut which caused the engine to overheat and the hose to blow from the pressure. he also informed me that the cooling fan relay was placed in the wrong spot in my fuse box by the last person who worked on the car and he knew this because my car would not run properly for long without the cooling fans being able to come on. He informed me that the person who performed my heat gasket replacement did not replace the Thermostat and that there were pieces placed in the wrong spot under the hood, this ultimately caused 452.12 in repairs. I was charged for a new thermostat by arcola auto Tech, and the other problems stated were caused by the faulty repair work. my car is running perfectly fine now, after Car-x repaired the work that was done by this business.
