Best knee doctor I know. Reall...

Best knee doctor I know. Really knows his patient and takes time to listen to them. He replaced my knee and it was the best thing I could have done. He did a great job and I was recovered and back walking without help in what seemed like a short amount of time. Great doctor.

Groundbreaking advancements are being made each year in shoulder surgery and Dr. Kuiper is involved with the development of new procedures and techniques to better treat his patients with athletic-related shoulder injuries as well as osteoarthritis. New bone and soft tissue preserving procedures for shoulder arthritis are available for both total shoulder and reverse total shoulder replacement used to treat osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and unrepairable rotator cuff tears. This includes small-stem and stemless total shoulder replacement and computer-navigated shoulder replacement. New arthroscopic repair techniques are also available using all-suture anchors and knotless anchor repairs for labral and rotator cuff tears, Bankart tears, SLAP tears, and shoulder dislocations. Dr. Kuiper also has a special interest in the treatment of frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) using the most advanced noninvasive and arthroscopic protocols to improve function. This translates into a higher success rate and faster recovery.

Kim Siegrist is a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, and graduated from Jefferson Community College in 2000, with an Associate’s of Applied Science from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program. She has experience in acute care, sub-acute care, and long-term care; where she has gained experience with a large variety of diagnoses, including orthopedic, neurological, wound care, and geriatrics. She spent 12 years working in an outpatient orthopedic clinic, where the focus was cervical and lumbar spine fusions. She also has two years’ experience running an aquatic therapy program for lumbar fusion patients. She has taken multiple continuing education courses on the shoulder, nerve glides, and myofascial release. Kim feels it is important to educate her patients about the importance of correcting muscular imbalances and practicing good body mechanics. She works hard to educate patients on the source, treatment, and prevention of their condition. Kim is actively involved in her church, has been married 19 years to her husband Jamie, and has three children and three grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, dancing, and photography.

“My name is Jimmy B. I am a 67 year old retiree of the CSX Railroad. I am a high school sports official and have been officiating for 44 years. In July of 2012 I went to Dr. Goodin of Louisville Orthopaedic Clinic concerning pain in my right knee. After some treatment, together with Dr. Goodin, I realized it was time to get a knee replacement. My knee was shot! Officiating basketball is something I really love doing and just knew that this would end my career. Dr. Goodin told me that I should still be able to referee if I did what they told me. I had the surgery in July 2012 and by the first week of August I was officiating high school volleyball, and by the second week of November, I was officiating high school basketball.
