The nurse will go over wound care of the surgical site and provide you with a packet for treatment.
Mohs Surgery
Some skin cancers are deceptively large—far bigger under the skin than they appear to be from the surface. These cancers may have “roots” in the skin or along blood vessels, nerves, or cartilage. Also, skin cancers that recur after previous treatments may send out extensions deep under the scar tissue that has formed. Mohs surgery is specially designed to remove these cancers by tracking and removing these cancerous “roots.”
You may have thought Botox® was used only for cosmetic procedures, but in 2004 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the same formulation (Botulinum Toxin Type A) for treatment of severe primary axillary hyperhidrosis (excessive underarm sweating) when antiperspirants fail.
Mole mapping is a way for dermatologists to compare a person’s moles over time. This is critical to patients who have had skin cancer or have a high risk of getting it. This is because the earlier abnormal moles can be found, the better chance a person has of surviving melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.

Psoriasis
PUVA is the acronym for Psoralen + ultraviolet light A. PUVA is a type of phototherapy used in treatment of psoriasis and other skin conditions. Treatment requires the patient to ingest a light-sensitizing medication called psoralen before being exposed to UVA rays. This treatment slows down the excessive cell growth of psoriasis and clear symptoms for a time.
