Fancy Nails

Decided to try this salon since it is under new ownership. I had an appointment at 12 and was promptly greeted at that time. The staff and my manicurist were welcoming and very professional. I've had 3 friends ask me where I had them done. I would highly recommend you give them a try!

DON'T GO - I gave this place 3 times. Yesterday my daughter and I had a 5:00 appt and they didn't take us until 25 minutes later so our appt ran past their 7:00 closing time. They badgered me to pay before the services were performed so they could close out their cash register. Then when I was drying my nails, the husband stood over us and the wife was outside on the sidewalk trying to pressure us to leave - they even turned out the lights on us! And they cut the cuticles on 5 out of my daughter's 10 fingers - HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!! Even the girl who painted my daughter's nails couldn't believe the owner had cut so many cuticles - says this is what makes customers not come back.

The service when I started going to this salon about 6 or 7 years ago was great. I have since been questioning why I keep going back. On my last 3 visits.... One visit for a refill... fingers cut with drawing blood.... waxing(oh this one was not good) I am a customer who waxes the entire face, so I go into get waxed and I was taken back right away, however the salon was full so needless to say it was a huge rush. When I left my face burned as it normally did so I didn't think. The next morning I woke to little tiny scabs all over my face where the process had been rushed and simply incorrectly pulled the paper. On my last visit a simple pedicure, I cam home with 2 toes bleeding and the bottom of my feet were completey scrubbd off. I still go back but I am unsure why at this point.

I do not recommend this place whatsoever. I've gone here many times, only because it is the only nail salon that is close to my place of employment (in Harleysville) where I'm able to squeeze in a refill during my lunch hour. However, from now on, I'll drive the extra distance over to Towamencin so that I don't subject myself to the poor attitude and unfriendliness of the female owner. She didn't even greet me today. In fact, I think that the only three words she said to me during my service were, "pick a color". She even knicked one of my fingers with the electric shaver (if that's what you call it--not sure) enough to draw blood without a heart-felt apology. I hope that this place goes out of business soon. They do not deserve any patronage. If it were my business, I'd at least FORCE a smile now and then, but that's just me. If that lady is so miserable working there she should find another job, one that doesn't involve working with the general public. Only then would I consider going back to Fancy Nails! If this were a one-time occurence, I wouldn't have written this, however, this has happened to me too often there. That business doesn't deserve my money. If you're thinking about opening a nail salon in the Harleysville area, it's a wise decision to go head-to-head with this place. I'm sure that like myself, other people wouldn't hesitate to take their business elsewhere! An "F" for Fancy Nails.
