- Dr. Ty Vaughan was born and raised on a ranch in Northeastern Oregon, outside of the town of Halfway. Ty grew up learning the value of hard work, and an appreciation for the outdoors. He attended the University of Washington for college, but please dont hold it against him. Ty received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Colorado, where he also completed a General Practice Residency that focused on surgery, endodontics, and the treatment of medically compromised patients. He received the Surgical Resident of the Year award at the completion of his residency. Ty practiced as a general dentist for two years before completing the Endodontic Fellowship at OHSU, and then completed his residency in Endodontics at OHSU. Doctors Dale Barker, Mark Danielson, and Jon Yatsushiro, who are part-time instructors at OHSU, asked him to join the Endodontic Specialty Group at the end of his residency. Ty enjoys spending his free time with his wife Cathy, and their two young sons Tobin & Connor. They try to get outside and explore as much of Oregon as possible.

Provided by Doctor.comI highly recommend Dr. Vaughan. Seriously, the experience I had was the most pleasant experience imaginable for a dental appointment. Everything done was for my comfort and the staff was very professional. The whole staff was kind and caring.

Provided by Doctor.comSo, I was very apprehensive as this was my 1st root canal, Thankfully I can say Dr. Vaughan and his assistant Heidi really put me at ease. I was very well informed of everything that was going to happen and why. They offered me darker glasses to wear to protect my eyes of the bright lights, they offered me a blanket if I was cold. The whole appt. took less than 1 hour and happily the next day - I'm feeling great. Thank you endo group for making this whole process as easy as possible for me.
