They sold the custom cake I pre-ordered a over week prior to another customer. It said Happy Birthday James! They told me they took the writing off and sold it to another customer. I was unable to make it by close (at 1pm) on Thursday for a cake I needed on for a birthday party on Friday due to a family emergency. I was on the way to their store first thing Friday morning and called to tell them I would be there in a few moments. The owner said "It's gone." and that was it. I literally laughed thinking he was joking. The owner said it happens all the time where people order a cake and then never show. I would have HAPPILY paid for it up front - but they said no they don't operate that way, that they trust their customers will eventually show. Clearly they don't. My advice to the business - take payment upfront so you don't end up with business loss and UNHAPPY customers. I am now stuck without a cake for a birthday party today. The ONLY reason why this company has any good reviews is because they are the ONLY company that does these custom cakes in the area. As a successful business owner myself. I pride myself on the customer service we provide. I asked if there was anything we could do to rush order the cake for today - or if there was another cake I could buy similar to the one they sold and the answer was just "no". And then they hung up the phone. Bottom line: I wouldn't trust this company, especially if it's for an important occasion.
