Horrible! Will not return. I have brought my dog there before to get a bath, brush, nails, ect. done and been great but over the last 9 months or so the new person in charge has let the standards and care go way way down hill. My dog has gotten brush burn, red marks on neck from choke chain, come home with fleas and is now scared to go there!!
I've had my 2 kids (a rescue Schnauzer and a rescue Cairn terrier) boarded here twice now. To my amazement, when the guy came to take them back, they pulled him in rather than him dragging them back. They like it there. They get lots of attention, a great groom, and I trust HAFH to care for my dogs as I would.
we boarded our "healthy" dogs 10 days. Aug 2014. when we picked dogs up they were sneezing and coughing. We didn't know they had kennel cough until we took them to the Vet two days later. My wife called to let them know our dogs were sick and the kennel manager refused to talk over the phone but would only relay a message thru another employee...hmm sounds fishy to me. I believe they new they were sick and did not tell us. For $405.00 plus Vet cost it was expensive. Talked with the owner in which gave a response in which of coarse took all responsibility off them by telling us" its in the forms we signed." (very original) we will not go back. think twice before you sign the dotted line
Being from out of town, I took my two dogs to be boarded there for two days where they had stayed before. Upon check in they told us they would not board them because their vaccination paperwork was not valid because it was an unfamiliar form as it was from a vaccination clinic. The paperwork clearly stated out each service and date itemized. This was the worst customer service experience I have encountered and will not be boarding my dogs with them or recommending them as I have done in the past again.
We absolutely love Home Away From Home. When I say "we" I include our nine-month-old dog, who is known to pout when we take him in the car because he assumes he may be going on a boring drive somewhere with the windows rolled up. He absolutely comes alive when we turn into the HAFH parking lot! He greets the attendants with joy and affection, is happy and excited when we leave him, and happy and refreshed when we return. Thank you for this (occasionally) welcome reprieve for us and (always) healthy, safe, and loving outlet for our beloved dog!
